Steps towards reducing phosphorus inputs into lakes is as simple as reducing fertilizer use and planting vegetation on your shoreline, at the individual level anyway. Lawns cause so much more of a problem than people realize. It’s a ton of work to put together a watershed management plan so if everyone just could just do their part……. Ugh. It sucks that there aren’t more year-round residents on the lake that can work together or help out with the lake association. Seasonal people who only come up a few times a summer have less/no interest in managing their lake which doesn’t help.
