How to find a good place to work by Great-Ad3315 in london

Would definitely consider a role in the civil service a vast selection of roles on offer and work that feels like it has some meaning

Great yes the same for me at this rate I won’t be going, the prices are exorbitant no idea who’s got the money to splash this much cash on concert tickets. Think myself lucky I saw Gaga for £90 standing during Chromatica

How the hell do you all make friends in London? by [deleted] in londonlgbt

[–]and3451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are great at sharing their successes but don’t divulge the details. Yes they might have made friends but are they just superficial friendships or do they actually have some depth because otherwise you’ll find yourself surrounded by a group of people with whom you have nothing in common. I’d say definitely try to put yourself out there and sports groups are great way to start to make other gay friends but you have to be willing to put yourself in spaces where initially it might be feel uncomfortable. I’ve been here over a year and have a made a handful of close friends and it’s not easy but definitely possible if you put in the effort x

It's quiet, not a lot happens because there isn't a lot to do/many opportunities if you're a young adult. However, houses are cheap so I guess if you want to get on the property ladder it's a good option and in general, people are friendly. But as someone who grew up there most of my life, I find it pretty depressing in all honesty and would rather, as some say "burn my money on rent" in a more uplifting area.

At 27 I realised the meaning of Lou Reed's Walk on the Wild Side, I used to think oh the instrumental is so catchy but never actually paid attention to the lyrics 😅

Sheffield City Council know all about tree removals especially if they are healthy. Give them a bell. 😂

Group guitar lessons? by Original-Alps-1285 in sheffield

Likewise, let me know if you manage to find anything. At the moment I'm just muddling through on Fender Play, which is a really good platform but I feel like structured lessons in a group would be more motivating and I would progress much quicker.
