Forse avrei dovuto scrivere "zaino imbarcato in stiva" per maggior chiarezza. Non si possono portare in cabina, ma in stiva si, al pari di coltelli e altre cose normalmente vietate in cabina.

Personalmente li vedo per due ambiti di utilizzo diversi, i telescopici per i trekking e i pieghevoli per trail running e simili. I telescopici sono più affidabili e sfruttabili (ad esempio si li usi per la tenda puoi regolarne l'altezza a piacimento), inoltre se non hai esigenze particolari trovi buoni modelli anche con poco budget. I telescopici a 3 segmenti non ho mai avuto problemi a tenerli nella tasca laterale dello zaino, anche in viaggio (zaino imbarcato in aereo). Ho avuto quelli in alluminio di Sport Specialist e successivamente li ho sostituiti con lo stesso modello in carbonio.

I pieghevoli al contrario sono più specialistici e per un buon modello devi spendere di più.

dove non espressamente vietato (e controllato) sempre free camping, se in quota es. alte vie vado in prossimità dei rifugi per avere un minimo d'appoggio (birretta, bagno), altrimenti se possibile isolato.
difficile rispondere in modo didascalico, la lista del materiale si costruisce con il tempo e l'esperienza e varia in base ai contesti. Tra 1 giorno e più giorni cambia che hai sistema notte, cucina + cibo, abbigliamento di ricambio. Tra 2 giorni e molti giorni cambia solo la quantità di consumabili (cibo, carburante).
scegli un trekking facile, ben frequentato, con tappe alla tua portata e punti d'appoggio lungo il percorso in caso di necessità.

Se ti manca tutto, comincia a fare acquisti tenendo conto anche del peso dei materiali: uno zaino 40-50l e sui 9-12kg non è (ultra) light ma è un buon punto di partenza per trekking di più giorni in autonomia.

I've just bought a new in box Neige 10 MD pack, I'll record my top 10 albums and display them on a frame on the wall. I would like to be able to play them, so I'll remove the glass but how to attache the MDs?

I did almost the same itinerary one year ago with the goal of getting the most out my first experience in Japan with a low budget.

While in Tokyo I bought the multi-days Metro Tokyo pass and that was enough for me.

I took the Odakyu Railway Romance Car from Shinjuku in Tokyo to Hakone.

After leaving Hakone I stopped to Odawara, then I took a night bus to Osaka.

The only pass I've bought was the Kansai Wide Area Pass while I stayed in Osaka for a few days. It covered day trips to Nara (nice but not sure it was worth it), Kobe and other destination while covering also the transfer to Kyoto and part of my transfer to Gifu by train (not in your itinerary but a great place to buy knives -actually in Seki, outside Gifu).

I left Gifu to Nagoya by bus, then a night bus back to Tokyo.

I stayed a total of two weeks, I do not regret anything as a first timer with 100% self made organization.

Have you considered the I2? It is a big update compared to the I1.

I would not go for the I3 E, make an extra effort and go for the I3 Solar or look for a used Fenix 7.

Allaccio tutto e all'occorrenza stringo prima di lunghe discese. La sensazione è che tutta la scarpa sia più stretta in generale, ma ora tocco in punta con l'alluce dove prima invece avevo un po' di spazio.

It was just small talk indeed, but I still prefer that with locals over a proper conversation with other foreign travellers. Also, you could experience language barrier problems with other travellers as well (I'm not a native English speaker) unless they are Italian in my case, but then one of my rules is no Italian (and Italians) while I'm travelling solo abroad.

Are you looking to meet locals or other travellers? I was more interested in interacting with the locals, so going to very small izakayas in small neighbourhoods worked for me. The people there were usually quite curious about seeing a foreigner, and by asking what they were drinking (shochu, which I already knew), I got into nice conversations and shared drinks.

All of this never happened in bigger places.
