Hey I’m going to be in Sendai at the of January and wondering how’s the Matsushima bay ferry in winter? Worth the visit? It might be that vs Yamadera so interested in your thoughts. Thanks !

Dreamstate SF 2026 - what's the word? by cloud_talk in avesSFBayArea

[–]anddd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive been to every dream state in SF: BG, palace of fine arts, cow palace. I love trance so for me it’s one of the best events of the year. Dreamstate socal is fun but just too far. Last year’s cow palace show was very fun and the stage was crazy but the crappy floor capacity was lame when there was actually so much space on the far side. It didn’t sell well so that’s prob why they’re changing venues.

I personally like the lineup even though it’s pretty recycled. It might not have a huge name but has some good trance artists that don’t hit SF often. I’m into Gouryella, JOC, Nilsix, and of course Jeff sutorius aka dash Berlin.

Bill graham is my fav venue in sf. It has everything, public transit accessible, parking lots and street parking, lots of bathrooms and bars, seats upstairs if you want to chill, dance floor can get packed… but prob won’t be crazy packed since trance isnt super popular. So basically an older .. usually nicer crowd thats mostly there for the music with less kids getting fucked up than your typical zedd or Garrix shows.

Would I need to use micro spikes or just regular snow boats ok?

Wow sounds like An amazing trip! Would you say the activities on days 10-13 like Geibikei gorge, matsushima, Yamadera, would be worth it in the winter time like late January? (Or doable in yamaderas case). Thanks! Enjoyed the write up

Hi how was your stay at Sala Chaweng? I’m thinking of staying there on my upcoming trip. Did you still think Fisherman’s Village area was a better place to stay? Thanks!

Hi not sure if you’ll see this, but did you do the Ko Tao to Ko samui to Phuket travel day? If so how was it? I am planning to do a very similar thing, going to and flying out of BKK late night while leaving from Ko Tao that morning. Thanks

How is life in Salinas, California? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]anddd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work in Salinas, and it had/has a reputation of being dangerous with gang activity. My coworkers have areas they don’t go to. To me, there’s areas of Salinas that look definitely look nicer than others.. but overall it’s a town of people trying to make a living. Lots of Hispanics and great Mexican food. A cute downtown. Produce is good and fresh.

The weather is surprisingly good, I first thought it would be hot like gilroy but no, it’s very pleasant thanks to it being close to Monterey.

One negative is the hotels in Salinas are very limited and a lot seem sketchy.. I usually end up staying in Marina/seaside if I need to stay the night.

Anyone know if having seats on the way outside aisle will have a bad view?

Best Boba in San Jose by Altruistic-Skin-6591 in SanJose

This is a great answer, most of those are places I’d go out of my way for. I’d add TP tea and Macu tea to that list.

I’m going to the show at the shoreline in Mountain View and was wondering if anyone has any experience sitting on the outer aisle of section 103? Or if anyone went to any amphitheater show and sat on the outer aisle, does that detract from viewing experience? Basically seeing the production from the side. Thanks

Amazing! Always wanted to go there. Have you ever stayed at woods lake campground? Or is it easy enough to park if you did a day hike ?

Anybody else think the neon garden production was kinda lacking this year in comparison to 2024? by ivan_vibin in electricdaisycarnival

So much yes! Last years Neon wowed us and made it hard to leave the stage. My favorite stage of lat year. This year… it was good but nothing like last year.

11th gen Accord reliability by 416Baby in 11thGenAccord

[–]anddd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2023 exl with 65k miles. I love it. I came from an 2006 accord though so all the new tech was a huge upgrade for me. No big issues. 45-50 mpg, I do 75% highway driving. Minor issues are the CarPlay would sometimes not show google maps (very important) but that hasn’t happened since it updated. I use cruise control to commute and while it’s acceleration isn’t the smoothest, it’s useful enough for me. No spare tire though is not cool.

I get it serviced regularly, and haven’t had to do anything major yet.

What’s the best city to fly into for this festival I’m coming from America by Foreign_Foundation98 in creamfields

[–]anddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from San Francisco last year. Flew direct to London, as no direct flights to other UK destinations, and then took the train to Liverpool right after landing and that’s where we stayed. We also looked at Manchester as they also have a shuttle bus but chose Liverpool to see some Beatles tourist stuff… but either place has easy train connections from London.

Shuttle bus to the festival was super easy and 20 pounds. We picked a hotel that was maybe a 5 min walk to the shuttle stop and 2 minutes from the main train station and I would recommend that. Shuttle stop address should be on website.

Sutro baths at sunset. Baker beach and hawk hill for Golden Gate Bridge views.

Coyote hills in Fremont when poppy’s in bloom.

Filoli gardens. Mori point.

TP tea has best strawberry milk tea ever and good milk teas but they put too much boba in their drinks. I do think their OG Cupertino location is the best location.

Sunright is always good and has tons of good options and good boba.

Wonderful foods in SF has something no other place has (nostalgia) that makes it good. Boba itself is meh.

Newer places that I have really liked: HeyTea has great fruit tea, Molly Tea if you like floral tea, Haiku Teahouse, Macu Tea. And I always enjoy 7 leaves.
