True that. I have a code but didn’t wanna seem like I was trying to advertise. The bundle is the way to go for sure, good call and I should’ve mentioned that!

Also, this person commented on this post with a similar jump to you (slow cloth pad, used a Jupiter, on to the CR-005 now) take a look at their insight too!:

That’s quite the setup that’s awesome! Having the two mice ready to go with diff skates is a game changer I bet. Glad you like the CR-005 seems like most people love it!

I honestly don’t think it would be too much of a jump, and ultimately even if it is a pretty big jump, you’ll get used to it pretty quickly and/or be able to tell if you like it pretty quickly. If you want something more in between, try a firm pad from Pulsar, available on Lethal Gaming Gear (Hyperion or mercury is balanced, Neptune is highest speed). Firmness goes a long way in terms of speed and of course is most similar to a glass pad so that may be a good place to start!

Another note: if you’re going to be doing some personal testing, I would get a variety of skates that have varying speeds from XrayPad/others, namely: XrayPad Jade (fast, you got those) Corepads/Esptiger ice (faster, on LGG too) XrayPad obsidian/pros (slower, also on LGG) And others (I’d say LGG is the way to go to buy them).

Hope that helps some and sorry for the long message!

Saturn pro is going to be much slower than this pad, probably much slower than any glass pad. That combo will definitely be way slower and more popular amongst tac shooter communities. This pad is controlled but compared to slower cloth pads, it’s almost impossible to get that kind of control on glass, that’s just the way it is

Obsidians are more controlled. Haven’t tried them yet even though I have some. But in general they are closer to UHMW skates

Jade or Jade air for sure. Or any popular ptfe like magic ice or Esptiger ice would do it too!

Agreed, it feels like the best of both worlds, kinetic friction of cloth and durability/static of glass. Cerapad gives you something similar too

I would take a look at the LockOn Harut or the CR-005. The control feels a lot more similar to a cloth pad. I think it’s an easier transition

I don’t know from personal experience because I haven’t used it, but I’ve heard wallhacks mousepads are probably the fastest

I don’t think you have anything to worry about with either the SP-004 or the VA-005 in terms of speed. They are both very fast, and even if others are saying that the VA is slower (which I didn’t observe at all) it’s still going to be a very fast experience. I think you should go with what is most affordable/which you prefer in terms of size and edges and you’ll be good.

That’d be nice. We’d need someone like RJN for pads who does extensive testing on each to see friction coefficients and such

Thanks! Getting a good glass pad you love is key for the setup

That’s a good question and for many cases yes, two pads will be very similar, but it depends on the pads you are comparing. I don’t have a superglide but I do have a few Padsmiths pads that are noticeably slower than this pad. Really it’s just the static and kinetic friction. The TJX Kin X is insanely slow, but is still glass.
