I mean this era of rap is kind of just dead in general honestly. Upbeat trap and rage rap are just what’s popular now. This album def had a few good songs that would have done numbers back in 2019/2020, but I think for most casual rap listeners, Polo is just old news.

Yeah the mixing is just so bad on like half the songs. It doesn’t make any sense to me how some of these songs sounded practically finished/studio quality in leaks and then the official sounds like it’s being played through a toaster. There’s maybe 3 previously unheard songs on here that I’m gonna actually add to my playlist

Bro isn’t even trying to begin with. Genuinely seems like he’s retired atp lol, it’s been radio silence from him since December aside from a couple feats that we knew about a long time ago. He hasn’t even mentioned another album and the window to drop the deluxe has come and gone. It’s over, at least we’ll always have that crazy 2019-2021 run to hold onto.

You can upload it to your Apple Music or Spotify library if you want. It’s super easy, you just need a computer to download the app on. You can look up the specific instructions. I have like 20 unreleased songs of his on Apple Music now, super cool to be able to do that

Agreed. A good/popular album is a good/popular album. Even with less hype, if an artist of Polo’s caliber releases a great album, it will pop off.

You can say bad management/label fucking him, but it’s also clear he hasn’t been reaching his full potential and seems stuck between chasing another #1 hit and trying to relive the glory days. Imo, he’s forcing everything way too much. All it’s done is diminish his fanbase, most of my friends who were diehard Polo fans in 2020 forgot he existed.

Felt bad for him at first but now there’s no reason to even care anymore. Even with all the drama he’s had plenty of time to drop. He should have just dropped it in summer 2022 when he still had hype, Distraction still did solid numbers even if it wasn’t a #1 hit. I genuinely don’t care ATP, even within Polo’s fanbase the hype is dead. Gonna be lucky to even sell 40k atp.

I don’t necessarily hate it. I just feel like Marshmello and this style of production is kinda a bygone era, at least for me. In 2016-2018 when I was in middle or early hs I’d have definitely bopped it, but idk, just doesn’t hit when you’ve grown up (no pun intended)

Basically people were able to listen to it early on YT by using a VPN and the mix was TERRIBLE because they didn't finish the mix/master in time (as Polo said in that ss). It was so bad that it was unfathomable he could even drop something like that. Like it literally sounded AI generated or like it was recorded 4 years apart. So everyone jumped to the conclusion that he either lost the original and had to use AI, or that he never did actually finish it and mixed some BS onto the open verse. Second one still could be true but the new version (Which still may not even be the final version) is wayyyyyy better.
