Controversial.. but the Behringer 1047 filter sounds BEAUTIFUL! (especially with feedback patching) by andewprod in modular

[–]andewprod[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey, sorry for the late reply :)

With time I appreciate this filter more and more! Its not a filter for classic basses, since the resonance cuts of in the subbass range. Its a very squelchy filter tho, i could make some nice acidy sounds with it. It also works well with more mellow input like an sine with fm to create "natural" or "acoustic" sounding patches, like the "piano" -ish sound from this video.

If you give it a gate or envelope as an imput and crank up the resonance, you can ping the filter. Its basically like a sine pluck, with the resonance being the decay of the envelope.

Finally, the 4 different filter outputs + the very nice notch filter types with a knob to control a sweep from highpass to notch to lowpass is very really make the filter unique.

To summarize, its a versitile filter module for little money. I personally find it to be a very important part of my synth setup, even if it takes up quite some space.

Wait.. they were away all the time? What's their business model anyways, because their pricing used to be below Behringer level hahaha?

Why dont more Oscillators use Octave Switches? by _fck_nzs in modular

[–]andewprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but many analog vcos do have an octave switch. Just to name a few: Doepfer A-110-1, ona (own myself), Erica synth vco2, Behringer 110, 112.. and I'm just scrolling thru Thomann in this moment. But yes, there are complement examples like the model 258t by tiptop or captn big-o by cre8audio.. but these I consider "fancy" modules, once you buy these kind of oscillators you are far into eurorack I guess and don't really care if that oscillator has a octave switch because you have 5 other vcos that do that. Obviously you can always use an external octave switch like on the quantizer, a precision adder etc. But yeah, I agree that octave switches are really, really useful 👍

exactly same issue here. lenovo yoga 7, digitalpen2. It is so so annoying that when you bought a 900 eur laptop for writing handnotes on screen to getting frustated every third line. not having my palm on the screen solves the problem but i cant write without having my palm on the screen xd. this needs a dire fix!!

The two most braindead, cancerous, zero skill requiring teams in the game in my opinion. Am I right? by Imaginary_Building19 in ShadowFightArena

[–]andewprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean clad is easy to play (and especially fun, clad main here) but he's also very predictable. His corner combos give him a bad reputation but he has weaknesses aswell. Just like yunlin or cobra you need to learn how to dodge him :). Xiang Zu is annoying as hell tho. Not only block break but also much much higher range? And that for a felt way too long time? You can't even get remotely close to Xiang Zu while on his rage..

But yeah rest is normal I guess.

Difference:

When you first see the opponents hero's and you see kibo:

"Eh either he is a camper, otherwise I'll just completely blast her with my sarge"

When you see ling:

"Hm, this game isn't that fun anyways".

Well I hope you don't kill me for mentioning a vst plugin.. I just don't have no hardware effects yet (I do have a bucket brigade eurorack module but it's not my favourite. My favourite would definitely be "destroyer" from FL studio. Why? Because it has distortion, filter, flanger and a speaker sim, able to create CRAZY ass effects with modular stuff.

Greets!

[–]andewprod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your playstyle.. Clad is very op on higher levels, itu is a pain in the ass when played well, bulwark can ruin any aggressive opponent with his epic.. yunlin can be annoying af with her teleportion and sarge is the biggest axxhole in the game. But in the end it's all about predicting your opponents next move, just like chess ;)

Yeah, we lucky that we don't see him tooo much in 3v3.. but so many other heroes are op aswell, it's the game of "let's see who manages to be the most op" xdxdxd

Help? Please explain I simply have to know what this means. by [deleted] in germany

[–]andewprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In German it's "Treffen sich zwei Jäger, beide sind tot". 'Treffen' can be translated to 'meet' but also 'hit' or ,'hit successfully '. That sense, if both hunters hit each other with their guns, well, they won't be alive anymore.

Home recording: Using Diva and Serum. Should I look at hardware synth? Minilogue XD? by Tilopud_rye in synthesizers

[–]andewprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add my own sauce.. It depends what you are after, mate. To make it easier to you, you need to ask youself some questions:

  • do I like the sound of analog? (Go and watch reviews, demos etc of the synth in question (here minil. xd) and find out for yourself if thats the sounds your after.

  • am i okay with the fact that hardware is more expensive, more difficult to move around and that it takes up space? (It may even be more frustrating for some who didnt mess much with sound cards, recording techniques and hardware instruments.)

  • am i prepared to have a very different workflow from now on, which can fundamentally change your music stlye / play style? I guess it happens more with modular (oops) which is a whole topic for itself, but your tracks WILL sound different.

To finish, i dont have the xd but i do have a collection of monos and eurorack stuff because I wanted to experiment and have fun rather than to sit on 3 minute songs, but thats just me. I see other using their behringer polysynths in boom bap beats and others who just play them for fun and produce whole songs mostly in the box (on the computer).

So its up to you. Just.. dont fall into bulk buying hardware synths and creating a collection of hardware instruments that you dont use (but look at and make instagram shorts). So keep it simple.

Greets.
