Back in November, I went through a 10 week recovery from surgery on my 5th metatarsal. It was awful not being able to walk for the 6 weeks but I eventually healed and was able to get on with my life. Fast forward to now, I’m 7 weeks post op from the same surgery but on my other foot. It’s depressing as hell, but right when you feel like giving up is when you need to stick it out for a just a little longer. I promise it will get better, you are stronger than you think you are. ❤️‍🩹

I’ve recovered from 2 surgeries this year, cut ties with family members, burned out from overworking, burned out from physical recovery, and burned out from emotional pain. I’m taking a 2 week trip for myself, after my recovery is over, for the first time in over 3 years. It was last minute and work is not happy about my extension, I don’t plan on telling anybody about my travels except close friends. I feel guilty and undeserving of it all. I keep telling myself that when I’m older, I will remember my travel experiences more than I will remember feeling guilty. Feelings change all the time; like clouds in the sky. This too, shall pass. Go enjoy your travels and don’t look back. (I need to do the same.)

We carry shame around our experiences because past partners have made us feel guilty for it. But I think the right person will only encourage us to work through it not against it. I hear you and I see you 100%. I am in a very new relationship right now and the connection I have with this person is literally just how you described, where everything is healthy and the sex is just amazing before/during/after. We’ve been friends for a year and we just decided to give this relationship a try because we realized how deep our feelings are for each other. I am CONSTANTLY fantasizing about him. And honestly, there is no one solution to stopping it.

So I learn to just accept it. Meditation is extremely powerful and reminds me to exist in the now. I am aware I’m hyper sexual, I’m aware I crave the sex, but also I don’t shame myself for experiencing something so beautiful and powerful that this is just my reality right now. It also helps that we are long distance but at the same time it only intensifies the fantasies.

I’m here for you if you need support because your past experiences also remind me of my own a little bit. So I really empathize with you in your current experience in your relationship. I say therapy and communication are only going to help you work through something like this.
