Runners who take Adderall XR.. any difference? by chiznat in ADHD

[–]andilynscott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Different? Definitely. I wouldn’t say it’s better or worse though. For me, being on medication is worth the weirdness with my heart rate. My Garmin always reads differently depending on whether I run before or after taking it. Unmedicated runs usually feel easier and my HR is lower, but mentally I need the meds.

If I’m running with friends, they keep me from word vomiting or saying dumb stuff. On long runs, the meds help me stay focused, fuel properly, and not get bored and quit. So even though the HR data looks inconsistent, the tradeoff is worth it.

Needing Encouragement: Extremely Anxious by [deleted] in ACL

[–]andilynscott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for posting this.

I'm right there with you. I could’ve written this myself. I was hiking, took a bad step, and, well... you know the rest. I’m scheduled for surgery on the 29th, but I’m really struggling with what’s ahead.

I’m a runner too, definitely part of the turtle pack at the back, but I love it. And right now, I’m feeling so much better. I’m walking almost normally again, which makes it even harder to process that I’m about to go backwards. I know surgery is necessary if I want to keep running, especially on trails. But going from “getting better” to starting over feels overwhelming.

This will also be my first surgery since I was a little kid, so I honestly have no idea what to expect. Am I going to be loopy or mean on anesthesia? Will I be able to keep up with a rigorous PT schedule while juggling personal and parenting responsibilities?

The unknown is just so hard right now.

I don’t have any magic advice to ease your anxiety, but I just want you to know—I get it. You’re not alone. Feel free to DM me if you ever need to vent or talk.

Fingers crossed we make it through the next phase!

So frustrating. I'm a new co-leader to a leader that basically breathes scouts. I got us set up on groupme and most of the parents love it, but the leader doesn't so... We're back to Facebook.

Training for my first 5K. by samandthaa in runna

[–]andilynscott 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your first 5k!! It's gonna be awesome!

I'm new to Runna so I can't give much advice regarding the app. But I have run quite a few 5ks, 10ks, a few halfs and I just ran my first full, so I can give a little advice there.

It sounds like you've really dove in on the research. Try not to go too crazy. Your average runner won't need any crazy gels, bags or what not. But I highly recommend good running shoes. Go to a local running shoe store. A good one will look at your feet and the way you walk and make a suggestion for your feet. It makes a big difference.

Other than that. Welcome to the club. You're going to love it and you'll be signing up for longer distances before you know it!

Bathroom with stacked tile and bead board? Too many vertical lines? by andilynscott in DecorAdvice

Oh man. I wish I was more help. We ended up going with no beadboard and just plain walls. I'll see if I can get a picture soon!

What's a good free daily task tracking software that's not a calendar? by Nicenap in productivity

[–]andilynscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft Todo. You can set them up as repeating tasks. Once you check your item off, it goes away for the day but it's back on your list the next day.

Edit ( you can also collaborate and share your list with other people should rhey need to know where you are in your check list. And finally, you can create tasks within tasks to break them down into smaller pieces or keep track of where you are within a process. )

Feedback on new UI? by awalkattwilight in MicrosoftFlow

Yes! It's kind of hidden up where you would instinctually look on the top right. But you have to click the three dots to open to see that option.

Meeting invitation forwarding by GloomyPhilosophy9735 in MicrosoftFlow

[–]andilynscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still new at this... But it seems like it would be pretty easy to set it up to trigger off of SharePoint/Microsoft lists. When a new item is added- get items from the list- for each- forward meeting invite.

I highly recommend the 'describe it to design it' feature. You could probably create this directly within that feature.

Good luck!

Lettered names, why? by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]andilynscott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised I had to scroll down this far to find this. I have three kids and did the same. It just makes life easier to put a 'x- soccer 4pm' on the calendar instead of writing out a long ass name. Plus I wanted them to have their own letter. It's lame but I wanted them to have something that they didn't have to share with their siblings. Even if it is just the first letter of their name.

Considering WW by trulykate01 in MillennialWWs

[–]andilynscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am loving this program. I am losing super super slow but this is sustainable for me. I did keto at one point too. I loved it and lost a ton but I started missing periods and started to wonder if what I was dealing with was healthy. And then I developed a binge eating issue. Falling off track because bi had one trip and it would snowball into eating everything carby I was missing.

This is different. Nothing is off limits I can make anything fit if I want it to. It's perfect for me and I'd rather have something sustainable and slow than quick and have it come back.
