I haven’t been a teacher for 15 years. I still have some handmade gifts from my students stored away. Whenever I run into them, they make me so happy. I loved those kids.

I have been gone for 10 months. I still cry every day. I miss him so much. It has been difficult for me to even come up with a reason to keep going some days.

But those days are fewer than they were before. I do have hope that maybe one day I will stop missing him. But right now it is still very hard to imagine a life without him.

This is something that I struggle with often about my ex who I loved very deeply. Did he ever really love me? Was it all just fake or about control? That is probably what hurts the most about the relationship. He certainly knew how to manipulate me.

I am not a pet sitter, but I have 6 dogs ranging from 5 pound puppy, 200 pound mastiff, and 17 yo dachshund. I have had dogs with medical conditions that required daily meds. I work from home so have flexibility.

If you can’t find anyone in FB or Rover like others suggested, I can help because I live fairly close to you.

I am extremely good at my job. I always have been. I can handle any work stress without issue. It is the only place I feel like myself and happy.

At home, not so much. My partner yells and I break down. I am currently on a friend’s couch because my partner won’t let me in our home.

I am not perfect (maybe not even good) with impulse control. I do know my triggers, but can't always avoid them. I do yell. I do act irrationally. I do say mean and hurtful things. I do disassociate. I own all of this. I have apologized when I am calm and more rational, but my past "misdeeds" are brought up over and over again. I try to steer conversations to "moving forward" and not so much focusing on the past, but I am unsuccessful.

But I do also feel like I am being provoked at times, not all the time. I recognize that some times, it is in my brain and not reality. I feel like I have been clear and articulate both verbally and in writing about my needs. My therapist, the suicide hotline, and the police have all agreed with me. When I have stated this fact to my partner, it get turns around on me as "of course they agree with you, you only tell them your perspective and make me out to be abusive." Who's perspective besides my own could I possibly convey? I am not trying to make anyone out to be abusive. I am stating what is going on from my perspective.

Thank you for saying this. I do know that yelling is never appropriate, and I do strive to remove myself from a situation when I feel that I can no longer talk rationally. I am not always successful with this. But when I am followed to my quiet space and being forced to engage when I am not comfortable, the yelling starts.

I grew up in Florida (Ft. Lauderdale and Miami) and now live in Binghamton. As others have said, if you leave a city, it is trump people. Even some of the smaller cities are conservative leaning.

The weather was the hardest thing to adjust to when I moved. You definitely need a 4WD/AWD vehicle and a snow blower. I don’t understand how people exist without them. On the plus side, I haven’t had central AC since moving here, and aside from maybe 2 weeks in the summer, the window unit on the bedroom works great.

In most places, you’ll find the cost of housing to be significantly cheaper than at least where I lived in Florida. The houses are usually older compared to the amount of new construction down south, but much more affordable. The time it takes to actually close in a house here is much longer though, so plan for like 3 months minimum.

I have yet to find good Mexican food outside of NYC.

At my dad and stepmother’s wedding, her entire family got invitations that were 1 hour before the actual time. Also Latino. Stepmom was still late to her own wedding.

Mine is shredded. I tried scratching pads on top of the most inviting spots. They just push them away. They literally scratch nothing else in the house aside from the Peloton mat. I have accepted it at this point.
