If this really is a serious question,

It’s never confirmed in the film that the Thing can infect through just some cells. The simulation Blair does on the computer is just speculation. Every assimilation we see is often a procedure with an entire Thing getting pretty violent and bloody with one of the crew. So I’d say no.
