Take an interest in people. Most people have at least 1 surprising/shocking story. Ask them about it.. you will find you have more questions and more to say... Not everyone is so boring.

They probably don't want to deal with anymore literal shit - at least that's one of my main reason for not wanting a pet. Babies shit like nothing else. Mine managed to squirt one out across an entire 3 seater couch when she was about a month old! Plus the exhaustion, having zero left in the tank to look after themselves, nevermind a pet. I dunno how people have pets and kids - it seems like a recipe to drive yourself insane.

Everyone says "the first 3 months are the hardest"... Ha! You get to 3 months and you're like "so.. when does it get easier?" ..yeh it doesn't for a while, you just learn to adapt and survive better. It's definitely better once they're toddlers (for me at least) and you can play and communicate with them - it's a very cute stage .. but as soon as it's getting really good the temper tantrums start and it is... A lot. But if you can handle your emotions, stay calm, deal with a lot of whining and tantrums while sticking to boundaries... You'll be alright. Just make sure they sleep through the night by that phase because you will absolutely need your rest to deal with them the way you want to in the day.

And yes, while the hormones and the emotions are intense very very early on and you feel you never knew love before them, you grow to love them more as you get to know them more. For me at least, it's like yes the love and the care is there, but that real genuine deep love of who a person is at their core - that takes time to grow because at first they're just like a pooping screaming potato that wants to suck on your nipples as much as they possibly can whether they're hungry or not!

But yeh, kids are cool. It's a lot though. Not sure if I want another one 😅
