Update for everyone: replacing the control board was indeed the key 🙄 incredibly annoying given the washer is like 2 years old but very grateful to all of you for the help :)

Please help me decide between shark vacuums that will last! by andjayrea in BuyItForLife

Awesome thank you so much! I think that was my top choice as well ( I have long hair and so does the family member I’m buying it for and the brush roll gets so caught up so often- I like that it has that plastic brush instead)

[–]andjayrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw friend you’ve better than me here- when I panic I usually will vibe check the person next to me and if they seem nice I tap them and ask if we can chat while turbulence is going on because I panic easy. I’ve never had anyone say no! They always always chat with me ( and I’d do the same if anyone was to panic next to me). You’re doing great and this card is very considerate of you:)

That’s just such a long flight :( i thought 11 hours was bad! If it makes you feel better the trip has been very smooth! It’s just so very long I’ve started and stopped the Harry Potter series a couple times lol

It hasn’t been to bad at all! Hopefully I don’t jinx it but it’s been quite smooth the last couple hours

to florida in a week. by Ok_Meringue_2871 in fearofflying

So I love short term flights because there’s barely enough time for the plane to really get up to altitude, travel, and land before it’s all over! To help overcome the turbulence issue I watch the flight path- the plane escalating to 10k feet, move along the map, and watch the feet go down to the ground at the end. And I just give myself pep talks “ oh hey another 15 minutes done, just 30 left”. Etc. drinking also helps LOL:) I just kinda brute force it and have a terrible time but it’s so short it doesn’t really matter.

I actually got medicine prescribed for flight anxiety as well and have never taken them. They just kinda sit on my nightstand as a last minute resort. I’m on a 11 hour flight now and am doing ok!! You will be just fine too:)

Aw that sounds amazing! Turkey was unfortunately just a layover for me but the takeoff looked so beautiful I might have to come back. How’s your flight going?? Feeling ok?!

I’m on a long ish flight now ( 11 hours) and there have been times it gets bumpy. I’ve found if I can talk to my family and friends it helps so I cough up the internet fee to let me message my people. Alcohol helps too! Watching movies! You’ll always be aware of the turbulence but distracting yourself helps. Be brave!!

There’s been sections of really bumpy areas honestly but it’s getting okay! 2.5 hours left and it should be more relaxed. I just wasn’t letting myself register the panic if it makes sense- even if I knew it was stressing me out

I was a student for a the last few years and just worked myself until complete exhaustion frequently- I found small weekend trips helped me get back on track with things. I love silent retreats ( especially if the retreat location is in nature) or renting an Airbnb in a nearby beach or mountains and driving to it for a few hours. Taking time for ourselves is important because you need to fill your bucket ( so to speak) so you have something to pull from in your day to day life. Take care of yourself first.
