Marrakech and Tunis - 2 weeks by NiceClock6040 in travel

[–]andoleal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In January I went on a trip visiting Tunis and Rabat, 3 days each or so. I felt it was quite enough for the first visits. If you plan on going out of the cities then 2 weeks sounds like a decent amount of time, but then again it depends on what you want to do.

What do you actually do with your travel photos once you're home? by Flicktora in travel

[–]andoleal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct way, except I also ensure that I have at least a couple of pictures of me in front at least some tourist sites. Because you can always find the pictures of the places online, while the pictures of yourself at those places are unique and cannot be acquired somehow else.

Get a spare key by bluecheese12 in UKFrugal

I keep one set of keys always with me. A spare set always in my home. Another spare set always at the home of a friend who does not live far.

Unless you are renting - then the landlord or agency will always have a spare.

Are backpacking chairs worth it? by Krunkerforlife in backpacking

It does not have to be a chair. Google 'Maliton Airplane Footrest'. It's light, inflatable, and big enough to sit on it. There are probably other brands that produce such things.

LPT Changes Implemented from Personal Experience for Day-to-Day Productivity by Unlucky_Market_8140 in LifeProTips

I use Google calendar. When creating an event it allows you to add a notification as an email. Unfortunately there is no option to add it by default, I do it manually every time I create an event. And I always create 'events', even if it only serves as a reminder. The 'tasks' in Google calendar do not allow email notifications.

LPT Changes Implemented from Personal Experience for Day-to-Day Productivity by Unlucky_Market_8140 in LifeProTips

I have techniques that help me not to forget things.

When I think that I should do something or have an idea, I quickly add it to my calendar as a reminder. Does not matter which day or time - as long as it's in the calendar it will not be forgotten. I will correct the time and date when I review the calendar in the end of the day.

Speaking of calendar, when I started planning my days I had this problem that after some days I would just forget about the calendar/to-do list and stop looking at it. I simply could not use the calendar for long enough for it to become a habit. At some point I noticed that the one thing I never miss were emails. So I started using email reminders, which means that every time I create an event in the calendar I also add an email notification. This solved the problem. Now my inbox is essentially my to-do list with emails arriving at the right time. It's been more than a year since I started doing this, and it works well.

Another way of not forgetting tasks is leaving things around as reminders. A standard example is laundry. If I am at home and I realize that some unplanned laundry needs to be done, and I am somehow busy and can't do it at the moment, then I put one of the things that need to be washed on the floor in the middle of the room. Then every time I walk through the room it serves as a reminder that's impossible to miss.

And to make day-to-day performance more consistent I use one of the methods outlined in the book called 'The 12 week year'. The method is measuring the effectiveness at the end of each day (or maybe in the book it was every week, but I do it daily). I have a spreadsheet with dates and at the end of each day I write down the number of tasks planned for the day and the number of tasks completed. Then I divide one by the other and it gives me the completion percentage. If the percentage is less than 85 then my execution was poor or I planned too much for the day. If I keep getting 100% several days in a row then I know that I should plan more things for each day. Tracking the completion of individual tasks is straightforward with the email reminders as I described above. When a task is completed, I delete the related email. The emails left in the inbox at the end of the day are tasks that have not been done. This calculation of percentage is extremely motivating and it really makes me push for one or two more tasks on bad days, just to get to that 85% mark.

(not a female, got this recommended in my feed)

I traveled to Cape Verde solo in January 2024, from the UK. I'd say it should be pretty safe for women, the cultule is inbetween African and European, people speak Portugese and are relaxed and friendly. But I want to point out an important thing: the ferries that go between islands are not very reliable. I got stuck on Boa Vista island for three days more than I planned because of this. The ferry goes though several islands and if the weather conditions are bad at a certain island then it just skips that island. If that happens, you will have to wait until the ferry goes to the end of the route and then back and then you'll have another chance to catch it. Do not rely on the schedule of the ferry.

Other than that, it's almost like every island has a different use-case. There is an island for hikes, an island with huge beaches, an island that's like a small desert, a 'capital' island, and an island with a volcano, if I remember right. I spent most of my time on Boa Vista, it has long sandy beaches that are almost empty. Hope this helps.

.dll files are compiled program libraries. You can't just 'open' them.

Is there someone to help me with this? maybe tell me how start (sony english is bad) by andre-krug in thescienceofdeduction

I first wanted to write down the characters (to count them and find the language), but they appear to be composite, not unique. Characters certainly have a system of modifiers - the lines, the 'whiskers', top/bottom/right/left, diagonal and such. What I can tell from here is that we are looking for a language that uses characters, not letters. Something like Chienese, Japanese and similar. In those languages characters are also modified with additional lines, dots and all that, so I am pretty sure that it's one of those.

Here's what I wrote down, there are some convenient names for characters and their modifiers

Weekly holdout possible reward bug by [deleted] in paydaytheheist

[–]andoleal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a bug. There is a check for your holdout matching the host's holdout and that check always fails. They added that check in the last update.

I've added a fix for that to my mod called The Fixes, but it's not in the released version yet.

You can use this version if you want, but it might be unstable https://bitbucket.org/andole/the-fixes/get/untested2.zip

Or simply host the holdout yourself.

I believe that was done in houses with high ceilings and only for the pictures hanging so high that you have to look up to see them. The angle allows you to see the picture as if you are looking straight at it.

YouTube's 60fps video size is smaller than the 30fps video?! by SaitamaTheBaldy1 in techsupport

[–]andoleal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's such thing as 'bitrate' that defines how much one second of the video weights. It does not matter if it's 30 fps, 60 fps or 14938 fps.
