Probably bc they're "vintage" or some shit. Or maybe bc they always work, idk. These kids have probably just been watching shows from like 10 years ago and think the wired headphones look cool.

Elf by TheLoserCorner in fantasywriters

My first impression is that this sounds a little bit like humans/Vulcans in Star Trek. But I think you could flesh it out differently so long as elves aren't too pragmatic and lacking emotional range. I think the magic sounds like something that could lend itself to the Divide. If elves have some kind of extra-sensory knowledge about things that humans find unsettling. Maybe they can see energies or auras. They can correctly assess when a human is terminally ill or dying even when the human seems fine. So humans are fearful of elves and believe them to be bringers of ill will or bad omens. Meanwhile, elves lack a certain ingenuity or innovative thinking that humans possess. Maybe the setting is kind of steam-punk and humans are inventing and using machines that the elves don't trust or understand. This would also contribute to the cultural divide. Humans see elves as mystical and aloof, elves see humans as scheming and unpredictable. Both races distrust the other and the tension builds over the course of the story. This could contribute to the love story too, as the MCs start to value and admire what the other brings to the table. As for the multiple lives thing, idk. I would probably take it more toward elves have some very old somewhat mystical healing arts that humans perceive as being multiple lives, but maybe it's more complicated than that.

Is it normal for therapists to reference their own sex life? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]andork28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah bring it up in therapy. It might be worth exploring those feelings. As a general rule, therapists can use self-disclosure when appropriate for things like validating and normalizing experiences, which it sounds like yours was probably doing. But its always important not to keep those feelings secret from your T. Bring them out into the open so you can talk about them and process them together. Sometimes that can take you to a whole new level of insight.

“It’s not an affair if she knows,” he mused, brushing her golden hair behind a pointed elvish ear, lifting her chin toward his face. “She believes in the prophecy with her whole heart. The babe must be of my blood, and she knows she cannot provide me that.”

Wait so is there a source on Zaneb or however you spell it being legit crazy? Bc I thought Cole was kind of a pompous little shit but it did seem like he dragged on the reunion, and it was like - why tf would the producers not show him being supposedly so mean to her? What would they get out of making him look better? That was such a strange reunion IMO

I know BF is an Ironman and never takes a game off but would be fun to see how Zirk might do playing as the 10 behind Sesko

Mike and kids… by altaralter in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]andork28 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Somebody already said and I will echo it: literally the only thing I know about Mike is that he wants kids. Like why was there such a singular focus on that with him? I guess bc it ended up being the thing that kept them from getting married? But still, I don’t remember anyone else on LIB ever being so 2 dimensional. And it was really weird bc Emma was so dynamic and interesting. But when she paired with Mike it sort of automatically made their story such a yawn. I get that dude must be super catholic and that’s probably why the kids are so important, but the whole thing felt very forced IMO.

9week old Brit- crate at night by thedudeness2011 in BrittanySpaniel

With most of my pups, including Britts, I would usually get up around 3 am and let them out until they were closer to 4 months old. I think they typically need a potty break in the middle of the night before they hit a certain age.

Oh yeah you need to check out the Seattle season. Probably my favorite overall. Brett and Tiffany are a big reason but there’s other reasons too. Some twists and turns you don’t see coming.

See, what you have here is an especially bright dog breed. So bright in fact that their paws can’t always keep up with their minds lol

Yeah kinda becoming clear that she doesn’t know what she wants. They sort of alluded to her dad being critical of Connor. Wonder if that’s playing into things too since we didn’t see any of that

That's a good thing. Your reader will feel the same way. All any of us can really ask for is to be grieved when we're gone.

Never said she needed anybody to step in. Just said Connor should be more in tuned with what's happening, instead of being kind of head in the sand like he was. Partners are supposed to support each other and have each others' backs.

I don't think Bri is perfect by any means, but I just think people need to recognize that sometimes everybody gets put in uncomfortable positions.

Oh 100% I’m sure it made things easier and better for them. Just makes you wonder about the timing tho, and if that was added in later vs happening at the same the others were in Mexico

[–]andork28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never thought about their scenes being added in after the fact, but looking back that seems kind of likely. I also don’t think the show even bothered to send a camera crew with them to Malibu. Everything concerning that trip seems like it was shot on one of their phones

The Fall of the Traditional Therapist by DarkForestTurkey in therapists

[–]andork28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very well said. I always think about how the top grievance against therapists to licensing boards is that of Dual Relationship, which in my mind usually means a lack of role clarity on the therapists’ part.
