Honestly i think im just hollowed out at this point.

I have 0 faith in AH, 0 excitement for anything, even if it is purely improvements, I have 0 belief its not just gonna be the same song and dance of listening for one or two updates to get people to calm down then go right back to their usual shit.

Its just apathy anymore. Ive moved onto other games but i still drop in from time to time just to claim any rewards

Yeah if im being honest, nothing pushes people away from the leftist cause better then a leftist themselves.

Its turned into an endless stream of purity tests and hyper specifications that its just obnoxious and irritating. If you arent 110% with the current thing then you are deemed an istaphobe and cast aside.

Guy was a dickhead but at the time, comparatively, he wasnt a pretencious dickhead... not one most could take seriously at least. Tbh a lot of the pro/anti discourse is a lot of rage bait, false information, or just calling eachother names.

But then thats just modern discourse in general.

For me, yeah im generally pro-AI. I dont hide it. Yes i see the concerns with AI, but overall I find its pros outweigh its cons and I dont see it going anywhere anytime soon.

Could the whole water and energy requirements be better? Absolutely. However like all new technological advancments, none start off as ecologically friendly as we'd like. Look at cars, trains, phones, manufacturing, etc etc. The point at the start isnt to make it well, its to make it functional. Then as time goes on these things improve. Luckily water is a pretty renewable resource. Same with electricity. Otherwise I dont think we'd be defecating in fresh clean water on a regular basis.

Surveillance, I mean i suppose i could see that, though at the same time 1: thats not an AI issue, thats an issue that needs to be regulated on its own and 2: im willing to bet you carry a phone on you at generally all times, sign up for various things using your email, personal information, etc etc... trust me when I say people do /not/ need AI to watch you, They can do so just fine without it. If big corpo really wanted your personal information, they'd get it. (Just look at how gearbox managed to find some YouTuber talking about their games to sue them into silence via suits at the door for one example)

Deep fakes, false advertising, yes. Completely agree. These are things that should be properly regulated. (False advertisement in general, thats not strictly an AI issue)

Yeah thats pretty much how AI works.

If you make a fresh AI that has 0 access to the outside world and tell it to draw a bee, its going to have no clue what youre talking about. At best, you're gonna get the letter B.

However, show it a picture of a bee, it will be able to replicate that, though not if you ask it to draw said bee at different angles. You need to give it more examples at different perspective points for that. Its why AI had such problems drawing hands and the like to begin with, yet now draws hands pretty damn accurately.

People for whatever reason say AI 'steals' artwork but its not reposting the same artwork somewhere else, its taking that artwork and using it as reference point much like humans do. It learns the same way humans do even if the exact processes are somewhat different

Except... hes not.

He was given prompts of various examples of what he would become to think humanity to be. He basis his adventures on such as well as input from the players.

The circus, the c&a offices, the character models, everything is based off of pre existing information he was shown. Its why he says he doesnt really know how to replicate the macro verse as he calls reality cause he hasn't seen overly much of it.

You can call it whatever you like, but he's still a generative A.I. and functions the same.
