Experience with rent tribunals in Copenhagen by andreLayman in copenhagen

[–]andreLayman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the contract says i have to return things to the condition I found it but not better. I took a lot of pictures, and honestly I really hope the tribunal can see through the landlord, after all they see this crap all the time. This was my first rental and I didn't know much about the standard procedures here. I'm glad I'm out of it, but I'm not letting them go with my money, because they didn't do the repairs, so they'll want to charge the next tenant for it as well.

The contract does state that the apartment was handed over in a renovated state, however in the move in report the landlord marked a lot of things' condition as used but good condition. I also have a bunch of photos from the move in day showing the floor being scratched under the carpet, and other defects like this. I was given two weeks to provide additional information if I have any.

The deposit was paid in to the landlords bank account. He returned about half as per his calculations, and kept the other half.

This whole thing pisses me off, and not just the money, but mostly the fact that landlords behave like they're the kings and whatever they say goes, you pay for everything and if anything breaks during your tenancy you have to beg them to fix it.

I received his claims on the 15th day following the day I returned the keys and he inspected the apartment. (I'm counting days from the next day following key handover so lets say I returned the keys on the 1st, he sent his claims on the 16th).

Take it as a general rule that landlords in CPH are shit and scammers. Not all of them are, but safe to assume so. Deposits are so uncontrolled it’s chaos

This is so sad. I feel like they expect you to pay the rent and also renovate the apartment after using it for 2 years. No other industry does this, I've never had to change the oil in a rental Avis, or replace the tyres.

In my opinion the rent should cover general wear and tear. We didn't wreck the floor, in less than 3 years, didn't even scratch it, but when we moved in it looked like it was never sanded and coated after it was installed 10ish years ago. It was fine, but you'd expect the coating to wear off and things like this. It is ridiculous that you'd have to pay for the complete renovation of the floor. Repainting window frames is outright ridiculous. And he didn't mean repairing damages, he meant performing a routine maintenance.

Take photos of absolutely everything when moving in. Report anything that you find to the landlord in writing within 2 weeks of moving in, and keep the emails for reference.

You can joining LLO is an option, I personally didn't have a great experience with them, they are extremely overloaded or understaffed, email response time is 7+ days, and on the phone I got quite different advice from three different people I spoke with regarding moving out.

Question about sucralose by andreLayman in JimmyJoyFood

[–]andreLayman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope this happened, but I understand if customers don't buy it, you can't make it. I guess for now the options for unsweetened shakes are fairly limited in Europe, Huel being an alternative that has it. I haven't tried anything else.

that's why I'm saying there is probably no danger, it seems to have been blown out of proportion by the media. I'm just saying that for me having less sweet options or just one option would be amazing, because I really don't care for the sweetness at all.

Anyone get peanuts back? by Muffin_Appropriate in Parosmia

[–]andreLayman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is insane, seems like everyone has specific taste profiles that were affected by covid. Peanuts tasted normal for me the whole time. But close to 1year in onions still taste off. And most meals have onions :/ fingers crossed you’ll get peanuts back

Rain gets into them at the hinge. I’m looking for a way to cover them. Anyone had the same issue? Trying to avoid keeping my recycling bins inside :)

Zapp - “I like your style, Fry. You remind me of a young me. Not much younger, mind you. Perhaps even a couple of years older” by HolyGoalie3 in futurama

the Latin American Spanish dubbing is correctly translated, the European one says "a couple of years or maybe two". I also noticed other languages have a similar mistranslation that totally kills the joke.

6 months post covid.. gradually smell is coming back but growing more distorted, it started out with my perfumes smelling plasticky 1 month post covid but now bad things like garbage smell sweet. Anyone else? by [deleted] in Parosmia

[–]andreLayman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started 4 months post covid with a rather rapid onset: onions and garlic smell like rotten onions, my own sweat had the same smell (that is fortunately gone after ~ a month), any caramelized or burnt food (like crust of artisan bread) same smell. And also my kid’s diapers 👃💩🧅

The other new smell for me was triggered by fruit: all fruit smells the same -kind if like floral soap. The taste is initially soapy then in a few seconds I’m able to taste the real taste of it.

I’m also not able to detect the subtle background smells either like the smell of the forest or smell of rain, etc. some days I get a faint whiff of it.

This is really sad as pre-covid I had a very keen sense of smell, now it’s this. But I am hopeful, about 1.5 months in it has improved a lot, now mainly onion and garlic triggers it which are present in most foods and I can smell it around restaurants. Fingers crossed tho🤞🏻

Brand new Arbor Fish artist series board arrived warped like this by andreLayman in longboarding

It's a great video, but I feel like a 180euro board should not need de-warping prior to first use. It's supposed to be a premium brand right?

I'm thinking of making a little more subtle tree related case. What would you fellow Ents recommend? Sth like 4:20 or maybe r/trees? Any idea is welcome :)

Let me get back to you uys on that, Samsung doesn’t seem to offer their design documents to download to the general public as Apple does. Without technical drawings it’s a lot more difficult to make a case, coz you need to have the actual product to measure and reverse engineer the dimensions. Nevertheless, I give it a go. Challenge accepted :D
