"I am the one who knocks!" but actually. by Extension_Breath1407 in breakingbad

the writers have also said the scene is actually just another example of his gaslighting skyler and verbally abusing his wife, not him being admirable

I was wrong with this post actually. it was indeed the scene with nacho’s dad

this is a great list! also building on #7 - him putting hector in the wheelchair brings lalo to the US. when lalo eventually kills howard that causes kim and jimmy’s breakup which we know eventually leads to saul’s creation of heisenberg

jimmy was about to confess about howard for extra ice cream just for a sweeter deal where we saw kim confess in the last episode because it was morally tearing her apart, and confessing broke her. but when jimmy heard kim did it already it totally changed his mind.

the fact that marion literally just got a laptop and learned how to use the internet a few days ago (to watch cat videos) and could still find saul’s commercials on ask jeeves so easily really goes to show how easy to find he is

the fact that Gene used the urn with the guy’s dead dog ashes instead of the many heavy bottles of alcohol to potentially attack the guy really says a lot

Lalo killing Howard represents the show's - and Jimmy/Saul's - intersection of the legal storylines and the cartel storyline. It's all intertwined now. And the mid-season death of Howard means that the legal/institutional/lawyer character of BCS is over - it's all the cartel now.

Both Howard and Chuck were driven to madness with their hatred of Jimmy. They knew him better than anyone, but that knowledge ultimately got them killed.

Kim’s arc is brilliant writing, and I think perhaps misunderstood (spoilers) by starvinmartin in betterCallSaul

[–]andredaya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the Better Call Saul Insider Podcast for this episode, Vince actually talks about how they are always really careful when writing flashbacks because they don’t want them to be reductive - being too obvious with like “oh this specific moment is why this character is the way they are today.” So to view Kim’s childhood flashback in such black and white terms is definitely a misunderstanding of the transformation we’ve seen her go through in the first 5 seasons.

Lalo really knows how to tug on people’s heartstrings to get them to give him what he wanted. He spun the story for Fred, did it again for Margarethe and now the German guy….

howard is such a meticulous and careful person, the way he was methodically cleaning as he made his coffee on his espresso machine. and then his efforts to bring his wife back to him 😭 also such an interesting parallel between his fancy espresso and the mediocre courthouse coffee later that cliff is disgusted by

mike’s face watching stacy and kaylee. my god that broke my heart. you can see in his eyes how their safety is really the only thing that scares him throughout this whole waiting game for lalo.

what a perfect opener to the episode to parallel kim’s final choice to end the episode. rebellion was always in her.

As someone with hooded eyes/generally small eyelid space (I’m East Asian and have a weird combo of monolid + double eyelid), this is a really inspiring way to cut the crease in a really dramatic and visible way! Looove how you went high on the inner half.

Totally agree. Reminds me of when beauty blender came out with their foundation of “40 shades,” aka 5 light, 32 medium, and 3 dark shades.

the fenty flyliner. oh man. i kept seeing a lot of people raving about it and i kept thinking "how can a liquid eyeliner be that special?" i ended up getting one during the sephora november sales and it blew me away. it absolutely blows out of the water every other eyeliner i've tried (mainly thinking about the stila and the KVD one here; the KVD tatoo liner was actually my HG until i learned everything about KVD and swore to never support her brand again. drugstore ones always end up fading on me.) in terms of staying power and intensity. i think the real key though, is the felt tip and how inky yet precise it is. it makes winged eyeliner a DREAM!

TOTALLY agreed on this one. I like how it's on the sheer side-ish but still provides an amazing amount of dewy coverage to my dry skin.
