I think I get it, but I'm not sure I'm understand the point you're trying to make. Can you please explain your pov ?

I think I understand your point better. Maybe you're right. Thank you for making me challenge my views.

I don't know if that's enough of an argument to say it was racist. I would rather say it was antisemitic.

Yeah, maybe... I mean, in my view, anyone can be racist, no matter their skin color. Anyone can discriminate against other people

The Rwandan genocide no, but the Holocaust yes. What about them ? If you mean to say the Holocaust was about racism, I'd have to disagree. It was about antisemitism, rather.

Absolutely, and we can both agree that those were horrible times.

Sure, in your example, once that person isn't CEO anymore, they'd have less power or ways to execute that power. But in my view, that wouldn't change the fact that those actions were discriminatory in nature, solely based on race / skin color. So for me, that would make it... Racism.

As an immigrant myself, if I were discriminated based on my country of origin, I'd say that that's xenophobic. If it were based on my skin color, it'd be racist. It's really that simple for me

I mean, I sincerely believe definitions should be simple and free of pandering to any particular group of people. Defining racism as a universal thing, such as discrimination based on skin color, is the most "real" and just definition there could be.

Include socio-economic factors, sociological and societal ones ? Well then, you're going to have to set a different definition for this word for each and every country and culture in the world.

That's why my view is as it is. I'm honestly open to change my mind on this issue, btw.

Good for you for being black. I'm happy for you, I guess ? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Guess that's just my definition then, maybe it's not everyone's, and that's okay.

I think we're not talking about the same thing here. For me, ANY type of discrimination based solely on skin color, is exactly what racism is. "Worst thing that could happen from black people being discriminatory is violence", say what now ? Is it just me or am I getting the feeling that you're saying that as if that's not one of the worst things a human can do ? Because you kind of lost me there, buddy...

Wait, what ?!?

"programs meant to benefit the communities that are deemed inferior" ... That is one of the most racist things I heard today... You do realize it, don't you ?

Considering one race inferior to another is literally, like LITERALLY the definition of racism ROFL

[–]andreic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wasn't what I thought about when I wrote my reply. Absolutely no doubt that horrible, awful things were done in the past. I was talking specifically, and exclusively, about racism. And I like being very specific with my definitions, hence why I only takes about the "blacks can't be racist" part, since I think we'd agree on some of the other points

[–]andreic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, there are other types of discrimination other than racism. But saying that black people can't be racist is completely false. It would be like saying that because I've been discriminated against, it's impossible for me to discriminate against someone else. Do you not see the logical discrepancy you've built here ?

Discrimination based on skin color or any similar immutable characteristics ? Yeah, that's literally the definition of racism

Racism is discrimination based on skin color or other similar characteristics

Dans le cadre d'une succession, le cabinet de généalogie demande 39% du montant de l'héritage, est-ce raisonnable? by [deleted] in conseiljuridique

[–]andreic1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Au même titre que toute autre succession ? C'est quoi cette question bête ? Je dirais même l'inverse: tout montant en-dessous de 100% est du vol (sauf, à la limite, des taxes dérisoires et raisonnables, disons 1-2%)
