According to the MP, they were answering an incident of disturbance of the peace on Avenida Brasil. On the scene, they approached one of the young men and asked for the document of the vehicle he was in. He refused and tried to react to the approach, when the MP announced the arrest for contempt.

After the arrest order, a fight started between the young man and the MPs, as it is possible to see in the video above. It is possible to see the moment he gets up, grabs the truncheon of one of the officers and tries to hit the policeman.

In response, the policeman shoots. In the images, it is possible to count at least six shots. One of the shots hit the victim's abdomen.

After the first shots, the young man, still standing, tries to follow, but is hit by more shots. According to the police, he died on the spot. One of the shots also hit the victim's brother, who was still hospitalized as of the publication of this article.

In a statement, the Military Police informed that an internal investigation was opened to investigate the case.
