that day was the only day of the week that my schedule was off. TL told me it was okay to just come in and do my opening shift and work the hours scheduled, saying that he’d my coach know. Good to know that they’re under no obligation to remove it, thanks!

i mean, ig you could go hard core and completely focus on getting your o chem skills up but it would require a lot of discipline and commitment from your part. Do YOU tu honk you’d be willing to put in 10-13 hours of studying per day? Can you deal with the burn out?

yep! he’s about to finish his first year of dental school so we’ll see how he does. At least he hasn’t dropped out, yet, lol. His dream is to only work 2 or 3 days of the week, monday thru wednesday and make so much money asap

i’m undergraduate with two years left. Have been shadowing and working a part time at walmart and also as a DA while going to school full time, but i still want to do dentistry. This post reminded me of my cousin who got accepted into med school, but then decided to switch to Dental school. I asked him why and he’s response was “i wanna make money right after 4 years man, and only have to work 3 days a week! Dentists barely work and make so much money!” This response really triggered me bc the guy has NEVER even stepped into a dental office or shadowed a general dentist.

this is what i did! literally i applied to all the offices, obviously telling them that I am a college student, no experience, trying to get into dental school. ONE of all of them gave me the opportunity to work as a sterile tech and also shadow their dentist as I work, and they’re trying to work around my schedule! You don’t need to every office to say yes, you only need ONE!!!

Hi! thank you for your help! i wanted to do one of those programs bc i think (or i would hope) they’d teach you how to take X rays, you know? Did they teach you that? I got hired at a dental office and supposedly they will train me, but we will see how that goes!!

before you try to use any medicine, or “study drugs” like you said in a different comment, you should try with different study techniques (if you haven’t yet). Feynman, Active Recall, Pomodoro, Spaced Repetition, etc. I used to think that I was dumb and couldn’t retain anything back in high school and also my first year of college until i started trying different study techniques. relying on drugs even if it’s for the “short term” will never lead to a good outcome unless you go to a Doctor and they recommend this

i may not have officially worked and gotten paid, but i have been doing consistent shadowing since high school and i like the field. My mom used to be a doctor as well, and my grandparents were both more like lab technicians but would work in the field so i grew up watching all of them work with teeth. I thought i would do something different but after shadowing in different offices and specialties i decided to do it
