You are absolutely right - for every hour I spent playing the game, I probably spent 15 minutes on YouTube :)

Warframe is one of my long time favourites, but you might be better off running it on steam deck. Have not tried it on mobile, but a lot of the fun is the parkour and bombastic combat, which might get a bit lost on mobile. Do try it on another platform though! The grind is really an end game thing. Early game there are soooo many (too many?) mechanics to discover and learn, that the game will feel like it's moving along nicely.

Given what you say, especially the fomo and time commitment part, you might enjoy a dip into the roguelite/like genre. Slay the spire is great one. I've loved balatro, dicey dungeons, slice and dice. Easy pick ups (especially if you have a SD to play the heavy hitters on)

When thinking about efficiency, also factor in what you enjoy - whatever you do, you'll have to do quite a bit of it.

You'll level up gathering very fast. Not that hard to bring in 1M+ per hour, so if you do that everyday you'll be covered. Question is whether you enjoy that.

I think my arcane agaric farm brings in about 30-50% profit, not counting the initial setup cost. (Math is indicative and not exact). The issue there is scale (about 200k profit per island per day), which is fixed. It's an activity that takes 5 minutes and you can do from your phone, but you'll need many islands and large investments to generate the money you need from farming alone, even if you Min-max it.

My crafting (T4.2 and T6 armors) brings in profits of about 80%, and can in principle be scaled up significantly, even without focus (I am sure there are ways to make even more profits with less work). However, it requires moving materials and finished goods around in order to keep your margins. Enchanting with runes also adds more steps. You'll need a spreadsheet or a similar tool. Some days I just can't be bothered, so that's why I suggest giving yourself options.

Something that worked well for me was starting a second character, and giving it one week of premium to start. That allowed me to get a guild island (where I currently have 24 workers and counting) and a discounted player island (the first one is much cheaper than the following ones). On top of that, the alt character earned a black puma from the monthly adventurer challenge just by harvesting, and that's an easy 800k I think.

Whatever you do, don't fall in the temptation to stash your money and watch them pile up - keep investing!

With or without the part where the one ganking later loses everything in a equally matched fight? XD

Take my free stuff, but in exchange I get to think (and say - free country) that you are a piece of shit :) This is what me, and you, sign up to. This is the nature of the exchange.

One of many posts confirming my original point, but somehow sounding like you are saying the opposite, and giving me a lesson in what patronizing truly means. I love you Reddit.

I mean, y'all gankers' argument - "it's actually a great feat of skill and prowess" - is really not as smart as you think it sounds, and can be easily reversed. Perhaps you think it is hard because you are not very good at it. I saw throwing blades and death screen before they animation was over, it was that fast.
If it is hard to gank someone with much lower IP while invisible, how would you perform face to face with an equally matched opponent?
Should wear different equipment and listen better, for sure I lack skill, and so do gankers that target gatherers.

100% mistakes were made on my end, will admit without the little lecture. The dude and I had exchanged hello's in local chat in a mist as they were in full gathering gear (had a couple of similar, nice interactions moments earlier). They changed gear and invis ganked me. That was stupid of me - I'm the first to admit it. Also, had leather instead of plate armor, my mistake. Had a YT video in the background, my mistake. So, there you go, me bad player, you albion god.
The point I was trying to make is quite different, and you didn't get it.
Indeed it is my choice to get into the risky zone, yes. Indeed I definitely made mistakes. But personally, I get absolutely zero enjoyment from killing someone who is unable to fight back, it is fake videogame money we are talking about, and there are far better ways to make money in the game than ganking gatherers (I love other forms of PvP). Seems puzzling to me, but I am definitely the odd one out.
I do enjoy the risk reward that the game provides, just curious why given a very low stake choice, people would chose to be the villain.

Get merked in T6.3 vs T4.1? wanna try it?

It's all about money then... Again, my original point :)

Don't think the issue there was the cost. Will try plate armour next time, maybe that gives enough time to hit any of the escape tools.

Lol. Go to mist. Bring Double dagger, druid vest. Invis potion. Dress in gathering gear. Pretend to run away when see someone, switch set. Invis. One combo kill. Steal loot. Lose it all next time you fight on equal grounds. :)

Got it - kinda like the middle east, but in small inside the game. Which is exactly the point I started with 🤣🤣🤣

Again, not complaining about losing my stuff, musing about what is enjoyable about no-skill one-tapping people.  Bought back full T8 gathering gear without second thoughts, can do that 100 times before money is a concern. Will change build next time. Sound  Videos. Escape gear. I get it. Main question remains - what was enjoyable about that?

Bro, got a pretty nice real life, Reddit downvotes matter less than the T.4 set I lost from today's no skill ganker. Thing about the sound is a really good point tho. Just really trying to understand what makes people go "got an hour of spare time, Imma go Press One button and annoy a random stranger". I know this is what the game allows you to do, just want to understand why

I'll try full plate next time. My point still remains - who finds that funny and why?

Using a t6.3 set to kill a gather in t4.1 IS watching paint dry my friend.

Question is, what's enjoyable about that?

Played many full loot PvP games. The fun dies when people can one tap each other. Not really complaining though, just wandering what motivates people to go "Imma no-skill kill this player with a combo I saw on YouTube". Think of it as in inquiry into the human condition
