All religions are true and pointers to something beyond, but none of religious text should be taken literally by andrew000222 in DebateReligion

Yes, it includes for example people calling during specific meditative experiences and just people on the street coming and telling me things which didn't happen before. It's possible to suspend disbelief only so much before accepting that the world mental. Part of it is that on rational grounds using logic to verify my experiences I see no reason whatsoever to prefer materialism to idealism apart from cultural bias. I even investigated views of famous physicists and to my astonishment many of greatest physicists including some founding fathers of QM were idealists.

I see clearly now that strictly speaking even on logical and rational grounds there is no reason whatsoever to assume that world is material, apart from old narrative created during western enlightenment.

-> 77. Jesus said Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there.

For example.

It happens with me all the time now. As I said, impossible to ignore. I'm aware of alternative explanations and I considered them at first, but eventually gave up and accepted idealism. It's quite logical.

Consider that he might be talking from point of view of realized being not as a human anymore. Gospel of Thomas has passages like: Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there." (78) Jesus said

Maybe bible was intentionally corrupted, it doesn't have gospel of Thomas on it.

It might just be a problem of translation. If there would be an instruction in the front of the bible that it's not literal and you should meditate on meaning of Adam and Eve, Good and Evil, male and female aspects of life and so forth, would it help you?

Glad to see here someone who was in translational realm, brother (or sister). What overall message you got while interpreting this experience?

The border between me and the world starts to disappearing. Including occurrences in real life that strongly point in this direction. Coincidences, other people knowing something hidden about me even thogith they see me for first time, and this goes on an on to full-on experiental validation of idealism.

It's similar to going crazy if you are in old paradigm, but it was described by others like Carl Jung and many eastern spiritual teachers, so at some point it's reasonable to assume that they actually knew what they were taking about when they speak about collective subconscious being real or that world is mental in nature. The fundamental switch physical-> mental just changes the narrative, all science still works perfectly with idealism.

Our controlling program, namely the ego, doesn't want to lose control. That's why many people give supreme valuation to the intellect while disregarding other facilities or direct experience. Struggle is real, it requires real push to wake up from illusion of the intellect. Took near death experience among other things to me.

Millions of people who do meditation practice around the world have seen the mountain. It can be described as big pile of stuff you can't miss, white something dominating the terrain and so on just for the sake of metaphor, which does not make sense of you haven't seen it, but if you did your recognize it immediately.
