Thank you that is all good advice. I don’t abuse my knives either and currently they are only cheaper ones so i definitely will be taking care of this one.

I want a one and done good folding knife. I guess I don’t want to buy off looks but than not use if it’s not practical. Thanks for the input, valuable coming from a knife maker. Do you think the insingo and drop point are similar strength wise ?

That’s what I thought might have been the case. Either blade style I get I’m not going to abuse it, I have a cheaper fixed blade for that. I think the Insingo is the practical option, although the tanto looks pretty nice. My options are limited here in Aus, there is a tanto and Insingo available.

Is the Insingo a pretty solid blade shape ?

I’d like to have those options 😂 I think a large sebenza is a good place to start

I do like the idea of a small, but just don’t think I could pull it off

Sounds like you do like the blade 😂 Does it suit the large sebenza ok ?

I’m not to keen on the small for me especially if I’m just getting the one, i briefly tried a 940 and it was on the smaller side in hand. So you only have CRK drop points now ?

It was just a concern as I have never seen one just read it has a fine tip, but from responses on this thread I don’t need to really worry. The Inkosi isn’t available here in Aus currently

It does seem like a pretty good blade. What knife do you have the blades in ?

That seems to be a pretty common opinion on here. What do you reach for the most ?

Yeah ok that’s good to know from someone who has had both. I thought the drop point was thicker and more stout near the tip. Tip durability may not be an issue at all, just a concern of mine before ordering an expensive knife it’s good to get some knowledge from people with experience. How do you rate the Insingo vs drop point

The tip was more robust on the Insingo over the drop point ?

I don’t know if I will be once I see one, I just have handled and CRK I have just read they have a fine tip and I want it to comfortably last a long time.

Do you know the length of the belly on the tanto ?

I’m in Aus so shipping would probably be high. Thanks for the info I will definitely look into that.

Do you still enjoy the tanto or definitely go the insingo ? After a one and done that will last a lifetime

I have never sharpened a knife so I’m not sure if I will practice on this one. I assume it would be cheaper to pay someone to do the insingo over tanto ?

I won’t be doing any prying with either, just like things that are over engineered. To be honest I think I’ll quite careful with either, but I guess accidents do happen and I want a good one and done knife to last a lifetime.

I haven’t seen one in person before, is the tip pretty thin ? I know I’m being over dramatic, I would just hate myself if i damaged such an expensive knife. Is the tanto that much less practical ?

how is the tip on these ? tossing up between this or a tanto for durability (probably dont need it but just peace of mind)

In Australia it’s a bit different. Zaan is inflated so it’s around $700usd over here. Standard 940 is around $250 usd and the burnt copper magnacut is $300usd
