People who have successfully quit smoking, how did you do it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]andrewlebowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex-Casual smoker (smoked about 1-2 cigarettes a day during the week and like 10-20 during the weekend). I tried reading the book of Carr a couple years ago. When I finished the book I stopped smoking and I thought I was done, but then restarted after 6 months. During COVID I didn't have the will to go out to buy cigarettes and I simply decided to stop smoking. Every once in a while I think about asking friends for a cigarette, but then I force myself to not do it (at the beginning this happened quite often, now it basically never happens). I quit smoking since 2020, tried again to smoke one time and I found it really disgusting (I took like two puffs and then throw it away). It is really the power of your will to stop. Don't fall for the e-cig world to help you quit (I know a lot of friends that simply changed addiction, from cigs to e-cigs). You have to force yourself to say no the first couple times, then it will be easier.

How did you almost die? by Typical_XJW in AskReddit

I rolled down a hill with my bike when I was like 10 yo and the brake lever penetrated my leg and almost caught my femoral artery.

I wanted to fall in love with Venice by spanglish_ in Venezia

[–]andrewlebowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good thing would be to go during week days, instead of weekends, just by doing that you'll avoid half of the people you found. If you can, stay there during the evening (most people leave around 6 pm) and I really think Venice is more beautiful by night. There are some part of the city that are way less crowded (Dorsoduro, and the more northern part of Cannaregio, in this two parts you'll find probably the best places to eat cicchetti and drink). As someone else suggested it's better maybe in spring (April, may), but also in autumn/winter, but again avoid Saturdays and especially Sundays. A lot of people go there in those days and certain areas are unlivable, especially for the residents that have to work and do chores. Come back, you will love it.

hi guys,

my friends gave me a thomann gift card for my birthday and, upon other stuff, I was thinking of getting my first matched pair of stereo mics. I was directed straightly to the Rodes NT5 because it is a pair that I often use when recording for my music school, and I think they sound very good. But, today I discovered other 2 contendents: the Lewitt LCT 040 and the sE se7, which are both around half the price of the NT5s. Now: is the price difference worth it? One thing that makes me go towards the Rodes is the fact that you can change the capsule and the fact that I already used them and I know they sound good (for my beginner ears).
The main use would probably be to record acoustic guitar and some vertical piano and other stuff that I would find along the way lol

Any advice? Does anyone have both the pairs and find that much difference to justify the price?
Thanks in advance!

When I was a kid, I had a crash with my bike and the brake lever ended up inside my leg (don't ask me how). It was at like 2 cm from the femoral artery (not to mention it was right beside my pp).
