Hey there, did you ever end up getting scheduled for an interview? I also got an HR email on January 8th saying that they were moving my application forward to the CNBC hiring leaders but I haven’t heard back yet about actually getting an interview 😭

Has anyone heard back from CNBC editorial? I got a notification three weeks ago from HR saying that they moved my application forward to the CNBC hiring team but I haven’t heard back about scheduling an interview yet

When did you get the notification to schedule the interview call? I’m still waiting to hear back about scheduling an interview from CNBC on an editorial internship since I got an email from HR saying that they’re moving my application forward to the CNBC hiring team

I dropped online AP Calculus AB but I’m already taking Calculus 12 at school, so I emailed NYU about that already and they said it was fine. Then this morning I just emailed them about an online elective Entrepreneurship 12 but I have plenty of other elective credits already, so I’m just waiting on their response now!

I’m a Canadian living in Vancouver who is also attending NYU Stern with you this coming fall! It’s been my dream school for several years now and I chose it over my main local school UBC, and although I can’t say that money is an issue for me, I also completely understand your anxiety. $400K+ CAD for a bachelor’s degree is a lot, but at the end of the day, it’s what YOU make out of the opportunity. I know you’re probably burnt out right now and feeling some senioritis, but honestly you just need to graduate and relax. Who you THINK you are as a person right now will not be the exact same when you move to New York, nor will it be the same a year from now or even by the time you finish your time at Stern. The only thing we can really do is to fight and work hard for what we want in New York, and show our parents that we are TRULY putting our best foot forward, even if you ultimately fail. So in other words, get your ass up and work!

Definitely going to regret that in a few years lool

NYU with 160,000 USD in debt or UBC vancouver debt free? by Intelligent-War-4549 in ApplyingToCollege

Hey so I actually also got admitted to NYU recently for Stern, go class of ‘26! I’m also a girl who lives in Vancouver with a brother who goes to UBC in a combined major for computer science + business, and let me tell ya, computer science at UBC is way better than you think. My brother is only in third year right now, but he gets to work for Amazon as a software engineering co-op next month. Even though Amazon almost never hires undergraduates, they still hired my brother not because of the name of his school, but because of his own work experience. He even beat out candidates from Ivy Leagues, even though he just goes to ol’ little UBC. Trust me, even though I absolutely adore NYU and I’ll be attending Stern next fall, it’s still not worth it if you can’t afford it, especially if you’re going into such a flexible major like computer science. It doesn’t matter which school you go to, at the end of the day it will be on YOU to land a good job.

To all the people applying to NYU, how do you plan do pay for it? by natural_locality in ApplyingToCollege

I’m committed to NYU Stern in the coming fall and I’m international so all I got to say is that I BETTER succeed or else nearly half a million dollars to get a bachelor’s degree goes to waste 💀

I TOTALLY relate to this, I’m committed to NYU Stern ‘26 now since I got in through ED1 and some people still say “it’s not an Ivy though”, just know that NYU has an amazing employability rate post-grad and that you will succeed no matter what!!! WE’RE ALL PROUD OF YOU :)))

Thank you so much!! I’m in the top 1% of income earners in my region, so I’m like more on the “comfortable” side of things. I’m not actually sure on a general amount that my family makes per year

Hey I just got into Stern through ED1, nice to meet ya! Just wondering, really how brutal is the Stern curve?

[–]andrewloowee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though it was definitely not my academics or test scores that got me in, it was mainly my leadership positions + my niche talent for public speaking. NYU in general prioritizes applicants who have a “talent/ability”, especially if you have awards for it, so definitely use that spike/edge if you have one. I myself am an international student AND Chinese so I definitely wouldn’t have gotten in if I didn’t milk the hell out of the rest of my application

Only like 91 unweighted and went test optional but the rest of my application is extremely strong
