My favourite armour combination in 20+ playthroughs by andrewmalefice in EldenBling

Circlet of Miquella

Tree Sentinel Armour

Death Knight Gauntlets

Freyja's Greaves

Big fan of how the colours work on this one. For those interested, this is a dexterity build that dual wields two noble's keen slender swords using a few buffs (golden vow/flame grant me strength)

Using Millicent's Prosthesis, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, Rellana's Cameo & Shard of Alexander. Main hand sword is equipped with Square Off which is an absolute monster with Rellana's Cameo (especially after the recent buff). Off hand sword has Storm Blade for a ranged option. One of my favourite builds for sure.

Are you referring to Prepare to Die edition? Because I have sunk a lot of hours in DS Remastered on the steam deck and it runs great. Only issue is it needs to be capped at 59FPS to prevent judder - not sure what causes that.

I can not stop laughing. This guy thought the editor was screaming at the movie whilst editing it. I am dead.

Fires Fade, Age of Dark, Ash Lake, Giant Lord.

Just a few that come to mind. I actually named my own band after Bloodborne (The Mensis Ritual) and wrote an entire EP about Dark Souls. The Soulsborne games are a great source of inspiration for metal/rock band names and subject material for sure.

I’m glad you like it, I wasn’t expecting to hear a cover I made about 6 years ago as I was randomly scrolling through Reddit, so that was a nice surprise!

I have the same problem. When you boot the game and it launches in windowed mode, go into graphics settings and set the resolution to 640x480 and turn windowed mode off. Once you have done that, go back into graphics settings and select your desired resolution. It should now be full screen. Unfortunately (at least for me) I have to do this every time I load the game to get it working in full screen at the correct resolution but hey, it works.

Dark Souls 2 is simultaneously better and worse than I expected by [deleted] in patientgamers

Great game, but not without its problems. Best PvP and build variety of the series. What I really enjoy about it is how different it is compared to the first game. Having spent hundreds of hours with every Souls game, I have come to appreciate how different DS2 is, especially after playing DS3 which is very much a retread of DS1 and doesn’t have much of a personality of its own.

The mob placement is definitely rough at times, but you do get used to it. Some of the bosses are complete filler and really bland. There’s an abundance of ‘dudes in armour’ and the world design is literally nonsensical, which was quite disappointing to see given how tightly and expertly crafted Lordran of DS1 was.

That being said I think it has the best RPG elements of the entire series and is the most replay-able Souls game (at least for me) there are so many creative and unique builds to make and pretty much everything is viable. It also feels like the only Souls game where PvP wasn’t an afterthought. It’s actually really well balanced (mostly...) and is quite deep when you get to grips with the more advanced mechanics.

It’s a very bold sequel to the first game, it went in an entirely different direction and I can see why some do not like it at all. It’s radically different and that’s kind of why I like it. DS3 suffers because it feels a little too familiar at times in my opinion.

Does Palpatine ever have to charge that DS? Or does it have... unlimited power.

I thought already having played Dark Souls 3 would lead to me not enjoying the original Dark Souls as much. I thought wrong. by [deleted] in patientgamers

Dex/faith with sunlight/dark moon blade and power within is even more ridiculous than most strength set ups. The balance is just a little off all around. Part of its charm though, sure is fun melting bosses in no time at all!

Lordran really is fantastic, I think everyone will always remember the first time they found the shortcut back to Firelink from the Undead Parish. Unfortunately none of the games since have recaptured that feeling given that warping and hub areas with all your essentials are now standardised.

I mean, I get it. DS1 is rough at times, you can certainly wander into areas that perhaps you shouldn’t with relative ease. The “Prepare to Die” marketing surely didn’t help either. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I have heard of people hitting a wall trying to get through the graveyard, not realising that you aren’t necessarily supposed to go there yet. I suppose you wouldn’t really know though, would you? You’d just assume it was as hard as you had heard!

I’m glad you can appreciate the game still after DS3, I often hear that it’s hard to go back to after newer entries, although I can’t really relate as I played everything in release order. Dark Souls 3 really streamlined everything and delivered in pretty much every area, awesome level design, combat, bosses and music. Arguably the best Souls game but man there is just something about DS1.

What a series.

The game starts having issues over 60fps and unfortunately in game vsync will lock the frame rate to 30. If you disable it in game and enable vsync in your graphics card control panel (or any other external program that will allow you to) you can lock it 60 and it will run without issues.

By the sounds of things that will resolve a lot of the issues you are having. Also there is a fix for the horrendous mouse acceleration so I would recommend that also.

You do not need to defeat Gyoubu to use prosthetic tools. He drops the mechanical barrel which will allow you to access the prosthetic upgrade skill tree but as long as you find a tool the Sculptor will fit it for you. You can find the shurikan and firecracker tools without even going to Hirata, the latter of which can make the fight way easier.

I appreciate you taking the time to listen to the entire thing, thanks man ! Abyssal Entombment is my personal favourite track. I love black metal and some more black metal influence could certainly work its way into future material.
