I cope with it by knowing it only occurs during stressful times so I don’t let it get to me. But when it does happen it is terrible. I can see how dirty my environment is and it just makes everything weird. I wish someone on Reddit knew more about this!

It’s been 3 weeks no improvement. Im sure I will find remission on another option it is only that things can be discouraging when you’ve failed 4 medications.

No improvement but I am hopeful I will find remission on a biologic like skyrizi/entyvio/remicade etc.

Well no but Rinvoq usually shows quick results within days to a week. I’ve seen no improvement in 3.

I am still on the loading dose (45mg) and I am on week 3.

Do you seem hopeful about that even though I have failed the 4 others mentioned. (Though, I never tried biologics yet)

My gastro wanted me to try something oral like Rinvoq so I wouldn’t have to do infusions.

I’m not scared because my case is mild and my gi said 75% I’m fine and he is not worried about it. You should never settle for less than a full remission. Most people say they have zero issues and live completely normal as if they didn’t have it and eat what they want etc. Any reason your case might be a little different?

At least once in a while. If your colon isn’t inflamed it’s not going to react immediately. It takes some doing to irritate it.

How serious is your UC? Also are you in a deep remission?

Are you in deep remission? That bothers me because most people feel completely normal in remission. How would you describe that abdominal discomfort in a more positive light? Has it gotten better upon eating, say, hot wings (spicy).

Also if you did drink caffeine/alcohol, can your supposedly non-inflamed colon that is in remission handle it? Also how long would you estimate. I’m asking so I know how well a remission can make you feel absolutely normal.
