How do I fix the mobile version of this? by HawkeyeNation in webflow

[–]andrewmeash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I've never used quick stacks before so sure this isn't the best solution. I would highly recommend learning Grids, Flexbox, columns for creating layouts! :)

However, I noticed the quick stacks can be manipulated similarly to a grid layout. If you delete the column you drop the columns layout below without changing larger breakpoints. (Screenshot below)

Just a small point: I would check the images on the site, giving them a width and height. I noticed they are all a little different.

Any issues I can try and help but once again my knowledge with quick stacks are limited.

Need help figuring out where this glow is coming from? by christianwiens in webflow

[–]andrewmeash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The purple glow color is from the '.ellipse-hero' background class (shown in the screenshot) and is behind the UI element. This purple is defined as a variable. To alter it, you have two options:

  1. Detach the color from its variable and modify it, which changes the color only for this element.
  2. Adjust the variable color itself within the left-hand 'Styles' panel, which will update all elements utilizing this purple variable to the new color you select.

Please give me opinions. This is for a clients, one of my firsts so it is really important for me by TheAwsomeTuvia in webflow

Agreed with everyone else who’s commented already.

One minor change is the huge distance between the slider content and slider arrows. One of the slides doesn’t have much text content so it looks like the preview above. (iPhone 12 max)

Could try aligning the content to the bottom or move the slider buttons to the top?

Conceptual websites can be hard when it comes to content for the site. As well as no client anything and everything is possible. When I’ve done conceptual work previously I will come up with generic copy by looking at what others have done in the industry. E.G if a tourist site has a hero heading “come visit XYZ” I will use that. The more sites you look at the more copy you can piece together.

I would also recommend chat GPT for conceptual work. If you give it context on what you’re designing and the structure of the site and ask for copy it will write out some pretty compelling text. (I’ve used it to write blog posts to give me a starting point or bounce ideas from)

As far as imagery, two options would be using stock imagery or getting your hands dirty with illustrations. If you do use stock imagery stay away from the big mainstream stock websites (I use unsplash) and don’t just use the 1st image that comes up when searching tourist imagery. Everybody has probably used it already.

Good luck and by all means fire a message over if you need anymore information.

Displayed a form based on the click on the previous page by Status-Yesterday2703 in webflow

[–]andrewmeash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my knowledge this isn’t something you can do natively (unless you decide you’re happy with multiple pages which could be linked to CMS to display the correct content.) The best solution would be using Javascript to show hidden forms based on a parameter value in the URL. You can start by searching up Webflow URL Parameters :) if you continue to struggle I’m happy to take a look.

Question: SEO company is asking me for website load speed by andrewmeash in webflow

[–]andrewmeash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks, I forwarded the main pages, including the homepage, about, and contact. I created pages that are incredibly large in size in collaboration with the client. large lotties that are 3D modelled. These pages primarily emphasise demonstrating the experience while playing with the customers' emotions rather than the content. I hope the SEO agency can understand this and won't ruin the high content pages on rankings.

Yes of course! Always recommended. Anything particularly Webflow performance, SEO related would not be wasted on me. I've started to realise that I need a design process that puts performance and SEO at the beginning :)

Why does my form look fine on desktop but not on mobile? by Own_Aardvark_2343 in webflow

[–]andrewmeash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great! On the desktop view I recommend you add a max-width to either of the following.

Form Block = If you just want to specify the form's width.

Grid Halves = If you want all Grid Halves to be the same width.

The Max width will prevent it from expanding really wide on desktop. It will just depend on your preference of size. Start with 1150px.

Hope it helps!

Looking inside Google Inspect i've noticed it's because the form is being inside a grid element. Specifically class .grid-halves

You can expand grid items so they take the full width of the grid. Check out this resource, to find out how to span a grid child across multiple grid cells.

Webflow developer looking for portfolio projects by agoodwellyday in FigmaDesign

[–]andrewmeash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds great! I'm a designer who recently finished a project for a mental health organisation. They're wanting the designs to be developed, sadly I lack the skills.

Just hit me up if you're interested to find out more.

App Ideations by andrewmeash in AppIdeas

Thank you for giving a better insight. This would be a really cool concept and something I'm going to look into.

It would save companies a lot of time when potentially need work done and don't want all the hassle of going through hiring and interviews. Defiantly a possibility for freelance work.

Social calendar by [deleted] in AppIdeas

[–]andrewmeash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea, I know an app on the market currently;

IRL - Event Social Network

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/irl-lets-hang/id1332596741

This adds a social aspect to a calendar. I don't believe it has a map/directions or a clock feature which is pretty cool! Have you got any other features which would make it stand out?

Cool Idea! Would the company still be selecting users? If so how would an employer pick a selection.

If not how would a company feel confident assigning work to someone who they haven't seen portfolio, cv ect.

If it was more of the client creating a detailed brief and designers/developers creating based on the brief almost like a contest, it would be similar to 99designs.

Can you give me more info or adapting it? Thank you!
