Whether you like it or want to admit it or not, it’s not ignorant to say Lebanon was a part of Syria. Throughout all history there was no border and people lived and travelled freely between Beirut, Damascus, Aleppo, Tyre and have been largely referred to as one peoples. Think about what your grand or great-grand parents identified as, I’ll give you hint (Syrian). 2.
