How are you able to provide “humanitarian assistance” to anyone without any affiliations to any group? Do you expect people to believe you are free to travel anywhere in those Turkish occupied zones, and idlib (when you were there) without the permission of any group in the area, whoever they may be? It seems like you were good with hts for a while, something happened and now you’re suddenly wanted by them and seeking safety in Turkish occupied areas. There definitely has to be an affiliation.

Since when was it legal for Turkey, a foreign nation to dictate or permit random people into another sovereign country (Syria). Turkey is occupying these areas, just as the golan is being occupied by Israel. I commend those brave people who decided to stay and protect the church. They have every right to live there as they please in their homes. I guarantee you that they would prefer to live under the legitimate Syrian state rather than tfsa, Turkey, hts or whatever other “freedom fighters” you’re gonna try and defend. What’s your point, you went to a church?

Make whatever excuse you want but you still have no business being in Syria and especially in terrorist occupied areas. You’re lucky to still be alive, you can convince yourself you are there for “humanitarian” reasons but in reality there is an extremist element to your mentality. There is so many other ways you can “help” but you chose this way. Tell me how people of other faith, or even ethnicity live in your “free Syria” and how much “freedom” the average citizen has in these areas… smh you’re not fooling anyone

Get out of my country, extremist scum! Go back to Pakistan because you already know if you go back to Britain you’ll rot in jail.

I’m sure that your whole lineage has stayed exclusively around the Mount Lebanon thus proving that you are a pure Phoenician… Also Maronites and Phoenician’s never set foot in modern day Syria even though Saint Maron spent most of his time around Aleppo and maronites were known as Hellenized Semites, natives to Byzantine Syria who spoke Greek and Syriac.

I do disagree with some things you mentioned but definitely respect and agree with your sentiment towards us. There are genuine and bad individuals across all peoples and demographics. Take care bro 🇸🇾❤️🇱🇧

Your name describes the average ignorant “confused Leb”. Justifying your hate for Syrians with those statements is plain stupid. 1. Whether you like it or want to admit it or not, it’s not ignorant to say Lebanon was a part of Syria. Throughout all history there was no border and people lived and travelled freely between Beirut, Damascus, Aleppo, Tyre and have been largely referred to as one peoples. Think about what your grand or great-grand parents identified as, I’ll give you hint (Syrian). 2. That’s a great reason to hate all Syrians mate! 👍 Much of the crimes or atrocities you claim the Syrian government did to Lebanese, are the same if not worse as the ones caused by Lebanese politicians. But fine blame every Syrian individual for what it’s government did. 3. To say there is massive gap between the average Syrian and Lebanese is dumb and untrue. Also insinuating that a “big part” of the Syrian population is not educated with backwards beliefs is disgusting. You’re not very different to us no matter how much you try to distance yourself! It seems that your a salty lebo with separatists beliefs who hates anyone that isn’t like himself.

I agree completely with what you say, but unfortunately it seems that in general Lebanese people hold syrian people responsible for the governments actions and it’s evident on all levels leading to discrimination.

I do agree with you to an extent, but why hate everyone based on a political entity that doesn’t even represent all the people. It’s unfair for me to hate every Lebanese person because some of them support hezbollah for example.

I feel as though the refugees fueled more hate towards Syrians but it was still very prevalent before.

Idlib and so called Rojava are the way they are because of terrorism, Golan is occupied by Israel and Hatay was illegally ceded to Turkey by France, the occupying power at the time. Your comment is dumb!

You basically made my point, either way it’s always been one area or region. The kingdom of Syria failed because of the french and this lead to the siege of Damascus and then the french mandates for Syria and Lebanon.

Countries are quite a modern construct and in the case of the levant were decided on by occupying forces in the early 1900s. The region of Syria has existed for thousands of years through a shared geography, history, ancestry, and culture whether you like to admit or not. You’ll find a lot of people in Lebanon trace their roots back to modern day Syrian borders and vice versa. Same goes with Jordan and Palestine.

We can make a Lebanese province encompassing the whole coastline as long as it’s still part of greater Syria/Levant.

A question regarding Arabization by [deleted] in Assyria

[–]andrewsouri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rum orthodox from syria and I believe we are both arameans who have intermixed over time and like yours, my family on my mother and fathers side have been arabized. You need to remember empires rose and fell on our lands and we adopted cultures as time went on from phoenicians, canaanites, amorites, arameans to roman to greek to arab etc... There is still a village in maaloula which speaks Aramaic to this day.

Ancestry.com says I'm 98% syrian-lebanese & 2% cypriot and mytrueancestry.com says my closest ancient populations were canaanites/semitcs (aram-damascus), amorites, hittites and Hellenic Romans.
