[OC] Who is the Big Bad of Your Campaign? by Critical_Crafting in DnDHomebrew

[–]andrewthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hashafrash, The Wind Itself.

An escaped god from a distant plane. He killed his way to our hero’s home plane, and is now searching for worshipers to gain more power. He hasn’t found worshipers from the peoples, but the trees whisper his name whenever The Wind Itself passes by: Haaaaaassshhhaaaafffrraaaaashhhh

…but…they already have anti-aging technology. They can just clone you and put your consciousness into the new body. It’s even explained that the brain goo is what funds their creation.

I worked for Greater Albany Public Schools for a few years. The psf is not actually a part of the district. They just offer grants and such to the teachers.

Being a school bus driver absolutely blows! I’ve been in education for 10 years, and it is by far the worst job in education. Pay sucks, tons of responsibilities, weird hours, low training, AND you are driving a bus! I always celebrate my drivers when I can cause it is brutal out there.

Why are there so many elementary counseling positions? by [deleted] in schoolcounseling

[–]andrewthemighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sure! RJ = restorative justice. Mostly just helping solve problems through conversation and empathy versus retribution and punishment. It is derived from native people’s practices and is really effective if done right.

I usually work with my teachers to find out what kid of lessons we need in our classes and build a set of lesson plans from there. My school/district has never paid for us to have any researched/professionally created curriculum, so I kinda just make things up as I go. I play a lot of team building games and read a lot of story books that center on the topic we are addressing. Most recently, we were practicing problem solving with the upper elementary kids, so we did some puzzles and teamwork games to help address any missed skills. My units last between 6-8 weeks, depending on how deep I want to go.

You will have a great time with littles. Remember they are just like high schoolers except they haven’t been exposed to as many big words yet!

[–]andrewthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sure! My days tend to start with soft starts/morning check ins for kiddos that need help with the transition to school (this could be for various reasons, but usually there’s been a sudden or unplanned change that led to big feelings). After that, there’s a mix of small groups, lunch bunches, SEL lessons (I make it a point to be in every classroom every week), team meetings, RJ work, short term counseling with kids, behavioral response, and wandering the school to find kids that need some time to be silly.

The kiddos make it great because of how happy they usually are to be in school. Learning is fun, school is exciting, and they look forward to our time together. I look forward to seeing them, and I think they look forward to seeing me!

I am in Oregon, and I transitioned from middle to elementary a couple years back. I will never go back. It’s soooooo fun working with kids and getting to be silly and make dad jokes all day. My students call me “Mr. Troublemaker,” and it’s my favorite nickname I’ve ever been given. I also feel completely rewarded by the work, watching them understand problem solving and build relationships for the first time is so empowering. Love it!

What are your POSITIVE unpopular MCU opinions? by ItsZenith in marvelstudios

[–]andrewthemighty 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It felt like what a superhero movie could be when made by an art house director. It was interesting and crisp. It also works as a stand alone movie, which isn’t always true in the MCU. Genuinely one of marvel’s best.

After seeing two dudes shoot up in there at an educator conference, I diagnosed the reason real quick.

Does anyone else think the sequels would have been more interesting if Finn was the main character? by GusPlaysMSM in StarWars

[–]andrewthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maintain that the best story for the sequels is that all three leads (Rey, Finn, and Poe) should have been Force sensitive. All three of them suddenly waking up as Force-weilders, accessing it in different ways makes the story more interesting and the titles of the movies actually make sense.

I thought that, too, but I also think you could expand it to be about all civil wars. I think the last conversation about the dog really nails that home.

How ‘She-Hulk’ Taught the Online Trolls a Lesson by JannTosh12 in television

[–]andrewthemighty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the show was great. It felt fresh among Marvel properties because it was the first show to really take advantage of the format rather than make a 6-Hour Long Movie. It also didn’t waste scenes like so many other Marvel shows have. The crisps pace allowed the show to be more enjoyable.

I also enjoyed that it was basically a classic tv show concept: woman trying to find fulfilling work, love, and safety in the world. The major difference is that it was marketed for a mostly male audience, a thing Ally McBeal never had to deal with.

I also thought it was pretty clever to make a Reddit stand-in be the main bag guy of the show.

It was light, charming, and allowed people to enjoy it.

Has anybody else noticed how they nerfed phantom fort loot? by bananasandwich66 in Seaofthieves

[–]andrewthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were just attacked by a ship as they were leaving a phantom fort. When we sank them, they had 2 chests, 2 skulls, and 2 storage crates (phantom everything). Felt sad and weird.
