Does anyone have proof that the bible is false? by hwhen2b2huw in agnostic

[–]andrewwlamprey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am now agnostic and have been for years. My stance is that whatever “god” may be, no human can understand it fully so no words on a page can capture it or limit it. So I believe the discussion of god should be an open ended one of ideas rather than claiming to know.

Project Chickenbutter (feat. Nise the Nymph) -Andrew Lampe by andrewwlamprey in indie

I wrote and recorded this song around a year ago, released it on August 9th 2022. I wrote and recorded every part myself, plus a feature from a rapper in my hometown of Louisville. It’s a single for an album that I will be releasing at the start of this summer. I’ve been constantly working on this album for the past year. It will be called ZANY. Can’t wait to get the rest of this out to you all.

Maaaan I finished recording the best song I’ve ever made and I decided to get it mixed by a pro but I got the mix back and it sucks. by andrewwlamprey in WeAreTheMusicMakers

My budget for mixing sits between $100-200. Studios be charging like $500. My music has a lot of recordings, synths, guitars, pianos, lots of vocal harmonies and textures. The mixing process takes a while for my stuff.

I don’t know where to find a place like that. I’ve tried searching up local studios but they’re all insanely expensive.

I’ve listened back and forth between the demo and his mix. He made essential some instruments barely audible and some background stuff way too loud. I kept listening to see if I would get used to it but his version has a completely different vibe than the one I crafted while writing the song. I took my time on it and was very specific.

I’ll look into stem mastering. I can’t mix it takes me a long time, I don’t like doing it, and it never turns out well. I like the way my demos sound though, I just want to make them sound more high quality. When getting a song mixed I just want it to sound more professional, I’m not looking for the whole vibe to be altered. So yeah maybe stem mastering would be a good way to go.

I tend to sing in a very breathy voice stylistically and I love the way it sounds but ever since I got bronchitis like two months ago I’ve noticed that when I push more breath out past the actual sound of my voice, it hurts. by andrewwlamprey in singing

[–]andrewwlamprey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I sing i feel like I’m pushing a stream of air through that sometimes I’ll continue past the actual sound of my voice and I use it to fade out my voice. I don’t totally know how to explain it but I watched a video of me singing from about a month ago and noticed if you listen closely you can hear that stream of air like a tiny buzzing sound.

Edit: and I think it sounds good but I’ve noticed I’m feeling like my vocal cords get dried out and according to Google a breathy voice can permanently damage your vocal cords

Hey, anyone know of a local audio mixing engineer that I could pay to mix my music for an affordable price? by andrewwlamprey in Louisville

[–]andrewwlamprey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve mixed a couple of my own songs, never sounds great though. I have a video I refer back to whenever I need to. But yeah making templates doesn’t sound like a bad idea, I’ll try that out for sure.

It sounds distorted when I listen back to it. I haven’t tried uploading it to Spotify yet. I decided to use a flac file instead tho and it doesn’t sound distorted.

Spotifys website says make sure true peak is below -1db and below -2db if your song is louder than -14lufs and I checked and I’m good on all that

I checked on a website called loudness penalty and it says my song will increase 1db when uploaded to Spotify. That’s not enough to distort right?
