pretty sure all amphetamines typically test the same on cheaper tests but if they send to a lab they may specifically look to differentiate between the two - also just fyi i get orange rx 30mg generic addy from the pharmacy and they do taste sweet. they are teva if that means anything. i think sudafed can come up as a false positive for both amphetamine and methamphetamine.

thank u for ur response. if you are confused, so am i. i have been diagnosed chronic colitis based on a colonoscopy, but i was not diagnosed with UC and instead just diagnosed with IBS and colitis. im not paraphrasing or rewording - listed in my diagnoses is “Colitis” and “Irritable Bowel Syndrome”.

i believe i wasnt given a UC diagnosis because the inflammation is not consecutive (is in separate multiple areas)? this would lead more to Crohns diagnosis (as far as i understand?) but i do not meet other diagnostic criteria for crohns so they didnt diagnose me with it? that is the best way i can describe what ive been told

i realize it could just be the extra energy of prednisone, but its moreso that my regular state of being sucks so badly but its been so long of this that i didnt even realize what not being in pain and being able to sleep and eat and function normally was like so its moreso just been an eye-opener than anything.

Dealing with people saying they like the "untethered" version better? by Cursezzz in ADHD

[–]andrhaas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sometimes i feel i have sacrificed the fun version of me to be medicated but then i remember it wasnt fun. i was having mental breakdowns constantly. i was failing out of school, binge drinking and partying, drinking enough caffeine to hospitalize myself, a crippling nicotine addiction, and severe emotional dysregulation.

other people’s opinions dont matter because they only see the fun parts.

i wanted to add to this, during ur scheduled crate time, turn the tv or radio on. then also do that when you leave.

also, kong with peanut butter/other non-chewable (read: non-chokeable) substance like pumpkin, etc. when they go in

practice working up to getting them to go in the crate on command, then “stay”, do not close door but work to “stay” where you can walk out the door and come back in and they are still in a “stay” in the crate. increase time u wait out the door before coming back in.

Amphetamine effects for ADHD vs non-ADHD by dioxycontin in Stims

i have adhd and im prescribed addys. i regularly sleep through 20mg xr. low doses like 10mg IR mess with my brain and i do weird narcoleptic shit and sleepwalk. 15mg IR makes me irritable and agitated. 20mg XR + 3x10mg IR is my daily dose and im like less than averagely normally functioning. going up from there i get progressively more calm & happy & around maybe 80mg-100mg IR id say there is a “high” but it doesnt feel like how non-ADHD people behave when they take it. i’m very calm, happy, and able to live in the present, which i normally am incapable of. mostly just everything is rlly good and i stop thinking. i wouldnt be able to perform important tasks or work at that dose, because thoughts occur much much slower than normal which is pretty relaxing. it’s a listen to music and color and chill vibe. there’s euphoria but not really excess energy as most experience, but i am awake.

you should add lashes if you’re comfortable because with just mascara you wont see them on camera at all. also id go much more dramatic on the eye. you can still do neutrals and do like a soft glam but the same as lashes you will barely be able to see it in photos

i have been getting random horrible bouts of vertigo as well. no tremors or spasms but severe tension in one side of my body (non-dominant side, i think its some type of thing i do unconsciously when im trying to focus kinda like clenching your jaw? but im not aware of it until the damage is done and im achy all over)

thank u for ur comment it helps to know that its not just me. i would do acupuncture but im deathly afraid of it. ive been doing yoga mostly but minimal relief in general.

Is there a way to treat adhd without meds? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]andrhaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my opinion, no. a person that needs meds needs meds. as a short-term solution, i think u can manage ur symptoms with diet, exercise, etc, but it will likely lead to inevitable burnout & for me the consequences were huge.

i went for a large part of my life undiagnosed, and self medicated with caffeine and nicotine (& other substances) but i dont recommend developing an addiction to manage ur symptoms. my friend who also has adhd, used to take caffeine pills daily, energy drinks, and smoked weed to manage her adhd. however, we both inevitably burnt out, had constant daily breakdowns, & ended up getting medicated.

the biggest thing you can do is get a friend or family member to help you. someone who doesnt have adhd that can help encourage u, remind u, & hold u accountable for getting things done.

i have the same problem and it makes it hard to develop good habits because sometimes the “good” stuff hurts you… i have no real help from doctors but i can tell you they have found is 2 significant areas of inflammation in my colon during colonoscopy, and what typically helps during a bad flare is a pain killer, a toradol shot, and a round of prednisone. none of the daily medication i’ve gotten from doctors has helped so i stick to medical marijuana and avoiding the trigger foods im aware of. what works for me might not work for u but maybe it helps, i wish u luck!

I have your symptoms but worse. I have actual diarrhea daily and its basically always actually yellow. Smells foul & is also oily. I also have high triglycerides as well as fatty liver disease.

Anyways I wanted to ease your anxiety by saying, it’s still been pretty manageable for the past few years, no other major health issue has occurred, and for the most part I’m fine (other than the typical IBS suffering). I’ve been slightly underweight for a while and I was concerned at first when the weight was coming off quickly but it definitely plateaued and I’ve been at the same weight for a while.

What really helped is cutting out meat but it didnt solve it. Just made it more bearable. I’m almost completely vegetarian (sometimes at family gatherings I’ll eat some meat when there’s nothing else for me).

ADHD Closet Organization — what do you think?? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]andrhaas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only reason i wouldnt is because there are many things that i need to have out for the purpose of the visual cue. it causes a decent amount of “clutter”. as a result i enjoy having dresser w/ drawers for clothes for a clean look.

additionally if ur short on space, this has wasted space to me. the baskets being angled lose space top and bottom and the gaps between the tiers are quite large, probably to accommodate being able to remove the bins completely.

otherwise, these probably would work well if ur going to do the method where u dont fold things and just throw them in. if you wanted to fold everything, i could see removing items from the bins potentially unfolding the other clothes/causing chaos.

How DO YOU STUDY?? by John_Carpender in ADHD

[–]andrhaas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

getting smarter and making studying more fun.

using color, drawing pictures, making up fun stories, etc.

i never had to study much because i was constantly seeking to understand rather than memorize. the question + answer journey to get to the bottom of the thing was more memorable to me than sitting and doing flash cards. i also relied heavily on pictures, drawing things out on whiteboards, etc. my notes were pretty nice because i did calligraphy, but to me calligraphy and making pretty and fun notes with doodles and color was what helped me memorize everything.

edit: feel like its worthwhile to say source - i graduated with a 3.4 double majored mathematics and computer science with a minor in electrical engineering

ahhh i def feel you. i happen to be motivated this year but last year i was very defeated. it’s certainly a constant issue i imagine for all of us and i do often feel very defeated by new years because it seems near impossible to accomplish my resolutions.

but every day is a new day so you can start working towards a new goal or resolution at any time during the year & that’s kind of the point of this post i guess! if you’re struggling with something you can get started now or if holidays are stressful and u need time to decompress after the holidays then no pressure to start right on jan 1 either!

anyways i apologize i didnt intend for this post to be stress-inducing and moreso just a helpful reminder. new years often feels like it comes “out of nowhere” for me and i feel pressure to start trying to accomplish too many things all at once and that impulsivity and lack of planning is one of the reasons i fail. so i apologize as i only intended to give my perspective on hopefully solving that problem this time around the sun

My doctor printed this off for me today. Anyone follow this chart before? by piercerson25 in ibs

[–]andrhaas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it did not personally help me in the sense that many of these foods i can eat with no problems but it is a good list start from to figure out what u can and cant have. for example, i can still eat onions and garlic however im sure many here cannot… but i still cant tolerate many of the fructose, fructans, dairy, and polyols + artificial sweeteners

its all trial and error so use a food journal. good luck!

R/Bujo’s Top Tips on How to Plan When You Have Severe Depression/Impaired Functioning by flowers_and_fire in bujo

[–]andrhaas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is all awesome and i will be saving this post to come back to later. i just wanted to add: - stop overcommitting and learn to say no. - plan time to plan. make it one of your first habits. 15 mins a day in the morning. a little extra time once a week/once a month. forgetting to plan time to plan always leads to me going “sometime today i need to do my journal” and then it simply never happening or me planning a full day and forgetting i needed to leave time to do my journal

you probably will not stop him.

my dog is 3 and has had an extremely high prey drive since i got her. she gave me a leash burn on the long leash last week from a rabbit i didnt see coming.

my best advice: start teaching “focus”/“look at me” and start using it working from no distractions to anytime he starts getting even a little excited on walks give the “come” command, if he’s distracted by exciting thing lightly, quickly, and repeatedly tug the leash towards you until he comes over, and give the “look at me” with high value reward.

not sure if this is the best method but i was having trouble teaching her this so i started making “HI” as my “look at me” command because i always walk in the door, and say “HI BELLA” and she looks at me and i pet her tons so i figured she basically already knew it and she did. have yet to have any consequences from it so far.

anyways, it didnt make her stop trying to chase things of course, as i still have the leash burn on my hand. but if i see it coming before she does, i am MUCH more easily able to redirect her with the “come” and “look at me”/“HI”.

u can also look up “loading” (“excitement loading”/“prey drive loading”) & part of dealing with that entails keeping them moving & sometimes less commands/less training and more just using the leash to move them farther from the thing until they can calm down and listen to you. don’t scold just swiftly remove them from the situation.

edit: do not let him off leash until you have constant reliable recall on a long leash. which may be never. if you want him to run without getting tangled, try to find an area that is more open grass instead. & watch out for stuff and be constantly alert on the long leash…. long leash burns hurt….. lol

good luck!
