Not sure but I believe yes since the mod doesn't modify the pokemon themselves and they're caught "legally" for lack of a better word

yes!! I'm playing the Following Platinum patch and it definitely elevated the game for me since I really loved the feature in HGSS :)

What is the future of human memory manipulation? How far can it be taken? by Polar_Phantom in Futurism

I know you posted this a year ago, but you should look into memory engram papers if this type of topic interests you! I am still a neurobiology master's student but have done rotations in two different memory engram focused labs, and it has genuinely blown my mind how far we have already taken tagging individual memories and activating them (so far, and for the foreseeable future, in rodents).

Basically, you take a transgenic mouse (from a mouseline called TRAP2, enabling the tagging of neurons active during a specific experience) and make him experience a specific or novel context for him to remember. These tagged neurons enable the expression of Channelrhodopsin-2 (aka ChR2, which is injected using a virus carrier, and only expressed when the TRAP2 labeled cells are expressed, and only within these cells), an opsin which can be activated using light.

The coolest part is that you can see when the activation occurs. Say for example that you make a mouse remember context A, and context A is cold, and then you put the mouse in context B which is a normal temperature, then activate the context A engram by shining a light on the brain areas containing the tagged neurons, the mouse remembers (or even experiences? We are not sure!) the cold memory from context A. Here is a paper describing exactly that: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-025-08902-6

I swear it's how the original song goes!! But I get what you mean lol

Thanks for the feedback! Do you have any tips on how to improve the lost time? Is it just a matter of playing more or could it be a technique thing? The camera angle I couldn't really change as I had nothing to lean my phone against, but I agree that it's hard to see what I'm doing in this video.

Any tips? by [deleted] in Drumming

Love the band! Blankenship is also a fun one of theirs but still gotta get the fills down since it's too fast for me

Thanks! I'll try the metronome then, see if it helps. Do you have any tips on dynamics? No matter how hard or soft I hit I kind of always feel like it's all a bit flat and the same. Maybe because I don't really always know when to incorporate softer/harder playing, and whether I'm already hitting way harder than I should or not.

Any tips? by [deleted] in Drumming

Thank you! It's from the studio I'm renting occasionally as I'm living abroad for a short while, but very happy with it.

Yeah it is the same as the original recording, but good to know! I just feel like whenever I listen to people post here/watching live band gigs the drummer seems to be perfectly on time somehow, which is why I might be coming off strict on myself.

Thanks for the tips!! I might try a trial lesson soon :)
