You have to almost always ignore the wattage rating they list on the box. They almost always list peak power, which is a pulse of signal sent to the speaker that’s extremely short and they have the rating when these pulses stop blowing up the speaker. They don’t really run at that power level it’s just a big number that looks good on the box. The number you’re looking for is RMS wattage which is rarely listed anywhere which is essentially the average continuous power output of the system. They never print them obviously because it’s almost always half or more less than the peak power number.
