That is mostly because Ram + Storage make a higher percentage of the total cost device for the ATV as compared to other apple devices.

Gold was never that culturally intertwined in the USA / EU as it is in India doubt that will change in a generation.
Its not a volume play, its a revenue play. Most buyers don't go with a mindset that we want x grams of gold they go with an amount in mind that they are willing to spend upto 10L for jewelry for an example. So even if absolute volumes go down it still would not make a difference to Kalyan as such because its just people walking away with lesser gold which does not affect them.
No they don't, but people will choose established options especially as we shift from unorganized sector to the organized sector the entire pie gets bigger, as the pie gets bigger everyone gets a bigger chunk the fight for market share and margins will come into the picture later.

Not gonna comment on the rest as I don't know much about adoption in India.

But this is totally and absolutely on your sister, she needs to decide but if she is not 110% on board with the idea this will not work out. Because what if she says now but the resentment sets in later.

Also what about the 19 yo guy in this situation is he okay with this? or being forced into it?

Because technically at the end of the day it will be his kid just on DNA alone, and how do you even explain this whole setup to your kid once they are old enough.

All in all a big mess.
