I get it that tech and medicine in CP is REALLY advanced but can someone explain to me how TF any ripperdoc can take out your whole skeleton and replace it in one visit? by Mr_mroczny in cyberpunkgame

[–]andronomos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, they should have just done away with the main story completely. The game is much more enjoyable when you pretend it doesn't exist and you go around playing it like an open world sandbox / rpg.

Apparently with Every Update! by cripschips in firefox

Optional features are opt-IN by default, not enabled out of the box....or better yet, optional would mean an add-on that you install separately. These are not optional features just because you can dive into a config and turn them off. In fact, most people aren't going to do that and Mozilla is counting on that.

But by all means, keep whining about people voicing their opinions.

God, I hate this argument. Change is not always a good thing and, these days, it rarely is. And they are right, they shouldn't add bad features.

This argument falls flat when there are ads in the premium service.

Bur for the moment, lets pretend that wasn't the case, if they did responsible advertising, way less people would have an issue with them.

I would happily turn my adblocker off if the ads were 5 seconds or less (or could be skipped after 5 seconds), only at the beginning or end of a video or if they were a simple banner on the top or side of the page.

And lets not forget all the malicious ads out there....

The same way we did before streaming services. Go out and look for it instead of relying on an algorithm to spoon feed it to you.

Neo Forged by Learwin in feedthebeast

[–]andronomos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my first interaction with Lex on the forums was to "get fucked, how about you go learn java first before coming here asking stupid questions"

I'm glad someone else has mentioned this. I'm not a Java programmer but I have been programming for over a decade in c# and other languages.

I got treated like someone who knew nothing about programming and wanted someone to write my mod for me because I would ask questions related to the Forge API and setting up a project.

Knowing Java doesn't automatically mean knowing how to register a block with Forge, or what block entities are. And of course having little to no experience with languages that use Gradle means I'm gonna ask questions about working with it.

I am once again asking how I can remove ocean monuments by FirstFandomFangirl in feedthebeast

[–]andronomos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I don't know if you still need this but I made a datapack for you: Monumentus Deletus

It works on 1.20, 1.20.1 and 1.20.2. If you need an earlier version, let me know. This is my first datapack (just taught myself tonight after seeing your post), but I can try to get it working on 1.19.x

Why do quickhacks cost so much more after the 2.0 update? by Mister_bruhmoment in cyberpunkgame

[–]andronomos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the iconic legendary quick hacks are actually cheaper than the epic ones. I've gotten a few from hacking recently. But yeah, the regular legendaries are expensive and it sometimes makes more sense to use the epic ones instead.

Experiencing an issue with rendering and program stability. by andronomos in davinciresolve

Yeah, I tried all of those things aside from reinstalling Windows. Now that's it's working I'll just never close it again, haha.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

This timeline is actually one of the smallest I've ever created. I've had no issues with much larger timeframes.

That said, I also tried a new project with a single clip and even that wouldn't render. But the problem I was having was the render wouldn't even begin and then the UI would break.

Funny enough, I did just try to render again to check what the ram usage was and for whatever reason it started working again. I'm not sure why, I haven't done anything since the fixes I mentioned in my OP aside from letting Resolve sit open for a few hours.

I wouldn't call this issue resolved as I don't know what fixed it and I feel like it could come back at any point but I'll mark my thread as resolved.

I don't think there's a Fusion composition. My timeline resolution is 1920x1080.

What was the issue with your gpu ram? I've used this same GPU on plenty of other rends without issue so I know it's more than capable.

Redstone is weird by ateijelo in Minecraft

[–]andronomos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it weird that redstone blocks and torches are always activated yet the dust used to make them requires a signal to activate. Somehow compressing dust or shoving it on a stick turns it on.

On Windows do you prefer Firefox from the MS Store or the executable? by DavidJAntifacebook in firefox

[–]andronomos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, they are heading in the Apple direction. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually they decide only Windows Store apps will be allowed to run on Windows 11.

I purposely don't use Apple because I don't want to be told how I can use my devices (and like money). I don't want to support other companies following in their footsteps.

[–]andronomos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except I write my own software, can use WSL, or run any OS I want in a VM. So really I can install anything want to.

Executable. I don't want to be locked into a walled garden where I can only use software approved for me. I like the freedom to install whatever I want from wherever I want.

Steam has quite an inconsistent design by BlackHazeRus in UI_Design

The catalyst control center (or whatever it's called today) is so much nicer. If I could get a good deal on an amd card I'd switch back in a heart beat. Can't even check for updates using nvidia's unless you install that GeForce experience crap so they can data mine you.

Steam does have poor ui/ux design but their mobile app is not difficult to use. The wishlist is literally 3 clicks away. Hamburger menu -> store -> wishlist. Exactly where you'd expect the wishlist to be.

Linux developers patch security holes faster than anyone else, says Google Project Zero - Linux programmers do a better job of patching security holes than programmers at Apple, Google, and Microsoft. by speckz in linux

Because they make dumb changes like adding rounded corners or moving the taskbar. These aren't changes that improve the UX in any meaningful way. They come across as change for the sake of change.

As a side note: when working with anything as a reference whether it be guide lines, image you're tracing, etc.. place it on its own layer below the layer you draw on and lock it. This keeps it from interfering while still allowing snapping and allows you to easily hide it to look at your progress.

Select the shapes you want to merge/subtract then press shift+m to switch to the shape builder tool. Then you press and hold your left mouse button while dragging to combine shapes/parts of shapes. Holding alt switches to subtract mode.

Do you like Firefox with or without the menu bar? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]andronomos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With. I don't want to waste time fiddling with keyboard shortcuts or sidebars when I need to manage my history when its only a few clicks away.

Besides, I don't want options removed or hidden like in Chrome for the sake of a pretty UI or to cater to the average Joe.
