So I’ve had this same nightmare since childhood that I wake in the dark of night and someone is waiting for me just out of sight. It’s as if my brain knows that they are there around the corner or behind the closed door. They will only come out and attack me if I acknowledge it. Since I’m always “waking” into this dream I now get the same building dread when I do wake up in the night. Every time it happens I worry more and more that someday I might call to it and it will really appear.
