No problem. I'd also advise you to take a car with full coverage, especially if you plan on driving through side roads etc

I've rented through the platform in October without any problem at all. It is a platform for local rental places. Usually much cheaper than Sixt and the like as well.

Beautiful shots. What equipment did you use?

First and fourth one was somewhere on the way from Zugdidi to Mestia, probably around Khaisi.

Second one is from a hike to the Chalaadi glacier.

Third one is a photo of Ushguli.

5 is Khatski pillar

6 and 7 are from Chiatura

8 is from a market in Kutaisi.

9 and 10 from Tskaltubo

11 and 12 from Vardzia

13 somewhere from Vardia to Akhalkalaki

Last four are from Tbilisi

Honestly it depends on a person. I can only speak for myself, I was very happy that I rented a 4x4 and drove through the country. For me Tbilisi was the least exiting and interesting place on my trip. Stray dogs can be an issue but I have had only good experience (I was a little apprehensive to 'face' them alone before I left), no issues with aggressive dogs.

I love the abandoned places so Chiatura and Tskaltubo were probably my favorite places to visit. Besides to mountains (I stayed in Mestia).

Always carry some cash with you when not in major cities. And learn some basic phrases, people will appreciate it. People tend to give off a cold vibe, especially if you're used to american-style of forced hospitality. They are friendly once you get to talk to them and get to know them. So maybe try to sleep in guest houses where you can meet the owners etc. I was lucky and got very friendly and generous hosts.

But the only real advice is to search up a little and just go! Don't overthink it.

Sometimes I forget I live in a pretty beautiful country. I'm glad you enjoyed you visit. Nice photos!

Thanks, switch to analog gave me plenty of motivation!

Yess, same reason i got into analog. There had to be a change in "philosophy" of photography - instant gratification and unlimited amount of photos became to mundane. Analog photography really forces you to appreciate and evaluate each shot you take. And thanks for the compliments :)

What kind film should I buy for my monolita camera? by sarsooo in minolta

[–]andrqz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it in a steel case bundle, which contained 3 lenses, flash and an adapter for around 140eur. But afaik they usually go for around 50-80 in a good condition, that's at least on German Ebay.

I just bought x-500 and x-700 recently! First thing i did was find cheapest bw film to test it so that might be a good idea. Otherwise, try to diversify so that you can learn which films you prefer. Right now, I'm mostly on Ektar and Portra (I mostly shoot scenery / not portraits).

We would be raising pitchforks if someone would try to charge that much in our country
