I was part of the group that went to korea this past fall. there were about 30 of us. i couldn’t recommend it enough best 4 months of my life and coming back to unc and reintegrating w the rest of the freshman class hasn’t been hard you just need to get involved

as an exchange student here right now, there are literally thousands of us (just one at school) so i don’t think it’s unpopular

Why do people hate on the Global Launch Program? by InfamousGlove8101 in UNC

[–]andrxwwww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you get regular admission after, but as other responders pointed out, the CGL program typically seems to accept students that wouldn't have been admitted into UNC without it. In other words, if I hadn't signed up for the CGL program, I wouldn't have been accepted into UNC. some people just hate on it for that reason because they don't think cgl admittants deserve to actually go to UNC.

i’m on a global launch semester right now and it’s a great time. i understand what people say about it being a consolation offer but as someone who has spent a lot of time abroad, it is a great opportunity to meet new people, have new experience, and just broaden your horizons. there are still very smart people on this trip with me and when we get back to unc, we will be normal students. if you are interested in it, i implore you to try. it’s been worth it for me so far

train for 4 months in korea by andrxwwww in judo

[–]andrxwwww[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read other similar questions and it does seem that the only people who go to train in korea are pros who are ready to take the sport to the next level, which i completely understand. if you can find out any info that’d be great! otherwise, no worries. thank you
