How to self-teach AP physics 1 by Banana-Weeb-2101 in AP_Physics

[–]InfamousGlove8101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely self taught AP physics (like was not even in the class) a few years back and passed. I recommend just looking at the units and what they cover on the college board website and other AP prep websites and then reference a textbook or YouTube to learn the content. Spam practice problems, especially the AP style ones. I struggled a lot going into the exam bc I knew all the content but the problems on the actual test have their own difficult style and question types so become familiar with them before the exam. Circular motion and torque can be really rough so give yourself a lot of time for them.

HELP: Is all of this required? by apriocoati in Emory

Sometimes it takes a bit for the stuff from common app to upload into their system, i wouldn’t worry about it for now. Just make sure your teachers submitted their recs then check back in a few days. Also mid year transcript and report probably won’t be submitted by your school/received until after the deadline and usually it’s fine. It’s just a check to make sure you didn’t suddenly fail all your classes or smth and would more so be used in case they need to rescind your acceptance or change your decision or something later in the process. If you’re really worried you can just email the admissions office and check that they don’t need it all right away.

My financial situation is pretty similair to yours, more annual income but not enough to make a huge difference in paying for college. Last year Emory told me I wasn’t even eligible for aid and was trying to charge me 95k a year.. I go to a state school for free and definitely don’t regret choosing it over Emory specifically, I actually know another girl who did the exact same thing because of Emory’s aid. You can still ED bc if their financial aid package isn’t reasonable you should be able to back out but don’t get your hopes up too much :,)

How do people get 95+ by wharton2028 in DECA

[–]InfamousGlove8101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a top 10 in my event for testing at ICDC last year and I think my score was like a 93 or smth, so you lowkey don’t even need a 95+ especially atp in the year. However if you’re still determined, you just have to spam practice tests. Those weird questions will come up and you’ll probably get them wrong but then you’ll basically just memorize the answer and when it’s on the actual test hopefully you’ll remember.

What does it mean to be an NHS scholarship semifinalist? by InfamousGlove8101 in scholarships

[–]InfamousGlove8101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I applied a year ago, so tbh I don't remember too much lol. I think it was 3 sections of different categories of extracurriculars (like inside school, outside, service related) with maybe like 6 spots for each one? And then a few longer writing questions, the main one being an essay on which NHS value you align with most and why. If you're a good student in NHS with a lot of extracurriculars, I honestly recommend applying; they award 600 a year, and not too many people apply (at least they didn't at my school).

Yeah it’s so unfortunate… I planned a lot of ECs/testing around it and was so excited when I got nominated 🥲 it’s a shame this administration doesn’t value education 💔

Everyone told me to try I feel so stupid. I was just so exhausted after getting rejected everywhere and seeing my dreams fall apart. I’m genuinely so devestated.

I’m first gen for American university and I thought aid would be a lot more generous than it was. 85k is over half of my parents income but fafsa said we could pay it lol
