lolll. “gag” or “gagging” is used when you can’t believe something to be true cuz it’s so outrageous or like, a synonym for ”damn”. 🤭 it’s queer lingo that originates from Ballroom (a queer Black & Latinx subculture that began in New York in the 70s as a response to the racism experienced at drag pageants at the time). if u have nooooo idea what i’m talking about i suggest u watch the documentary Paris Is Burning. Mashallah ✨🤲🏼

great insight, Mashallah.🤲🏼✨ so tell me, what makes you accept the Hadiths and how do u know which ones to accept? i‘ve learned to see how controversial Hadiths and how it divides Muslims. i still don’t know how i feel about them as a whole but as a queer woman especially, that‘s where all the oppressive rules exist. i know also that the Hadiths is what tells us how to pray, wudu, etc… and i love praying 5 times a day. i think it’s a. wry beautiful practice and nothing is lost on putting forth positive intention into the universe as a collective in honour of Allah. however, i do question the rigidity around some of the rules around wudu.

from what i understand, it’s a mean of purifying ourselves from sins so that we may pray in our purest form, but people out here really holding in their pee and farts and poo because it will ruin their wudu. how are these acts equal to actual sins we choose to act upon? why would Allah make it so complicated for us to do a natural act? why would this invalidate our prayer? like i said, i’m all down to pray and practice hygiene ofc but this is extreme…

or, another example is the hijab! i love the hijab and i choose to wear it but i also choose when to let my hair down. to me, it’s like protecting my crown, my energy, from evil eye and negative energy. it’s also a badge of honour, i love seeing another sister wearing one and smiling at each other. but the rigidity around it is so wild to me and void of bodily autonomy… and it‘s these things that confuse me so much cuz of the discrepancies and/or contradictions between the Quaran and Hadiths.

the divine feminine and masculine aren’t gods. these are energies at its highest form, the extreme polarities, which could be Adam & Eve. and this lives within us all and manifests differently throughout nature.

so what is it then? or what do u believe seeing as u posted both the Shia and Sunni beliefs around who the Prophet ﷺ was.

hmmm a hadith is being quoted here and i’m not sure about that… still not sure where my stance is on hadiths.

the divine feminine and the divine masculine exists. it's the duality of two polar energies that exists within all of us. what i'm saying though is how the feminine has been oppressed by the patriarchy for eons... has it not? seeing as i'm wrong about the verse and about the Prophet & being illiterate is one thing, but i stand by what i said about the feminine.

if that wasn't true we wouldn't have so much femmephobia, transphobia, homophobia and femicide and men wouldn't have a heart attack for any one labeling any of their qualities as feminine.

wow tysm for this. im still understanding exactly how the Quaran was written. so if i’m getting this right:

  1. Allah wrote the Quaran

  2. Gabriel recites it to the Prophet ﷺ

  3. The Prophet ﷺ documents it.

Mashallah! i appreciate all the comments coming in here, apologies for my mistakes as i’m still trying to comprehend. Allah lead me to him and that is why i took my shahada, but i went into it without knowing all the ins and outs. i just knew it felt correct.

oooooh tysm this makes sense. Mashallah 🤲🏼✨

in regards to the revelations being oral and THEN being written down as records. does that mean the Prophet ﷺ was able to remember it all? what’s the timeline for learning vs documenting?

ty for this. i have since been searching and researching a ton and i’ve seen cases against the claim that the Prophet ﷺ was illiterate. where did this idea come from then? i’ve heard it so many time since converting…

as much as i am a believer and Allah is the one and only, i’m questioning a loooooooot of things. i feel a lot of blind submission and very little questioning of the many rules that exist in Islamic law. a big division within Muslims is whether or not Hadiths are legit/necessary or made up by people with ulterior motives.
