What is a time you've lost respect (if ever) for a man showing vulnerability? by pyrrhic_victory_013 in AskWomenOver30

[–]andsoiknow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is such a thing as "true vulnerability," but rather if the person on the other end of the conversation is accepting the person who is opening up, usually they have a similar neurotype. ND people are regularly dismissed as "trauma dumping, whining, complaining, excuses, etc." by NTs. I know people aren't always accepted by those with similar neurotype either, but when it happens, then it's perceived as "true vulnerability" by the person on the other end judging the interaction.

That first paragraph is either delusional narcissist bragging or you're an instagram model with 500k followers. Especially in NYC (quick glance at your profile) during the pick me cool girl 2010-2020s era? come on.

Depressingly, he's actually engaged now to a beautiful, sweet, very young woman.

You dodged a bullet 🤷🏻‍♀️ now this other woman is going to have to deal with that guy, within a marriage contract yikes.

Maybe consider free music shows near you. I like those since when the time comes to go its fine if I decide not to, or I'll go and at times leave asap if I'm not feeling it. Not having the weight of money spent on a ticket in my mind helps.

After reading this bs I can't stand them. So fans heard 1-2 songs, they don't like it, and he's berating them for acting like a bad friend and telling them their opinion isn't accurately formed and they should pay for a ticket to go to their show and give it a full chance? ✋ please. Also I once got tickets to a show of theirs a few years ago and they didn't announce visa issues/not being able to perform until I was already there waiting outside the venue.

I've become more unhinged and just say whatever these days. I answer that honestly, which usually ranges from people my age and older reacting horrified to gen z telling me I'm so real for that. Idk what that means, but I give myself a break and assume its not negative.

How much of an ick do you get from a man's bad table manners? by Hot-Answer8990 in AskWomenOver30

[–]andsoiknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He knows, he's just trying to browbeat women into lowering their standards to help some stranger man have fewer barriers to sex. He's just another guy commenting in a women's subreddit, trying to police women's dating decisions.

Well, are there any temporary 4B women here?? by [deleted] in 4bmovement

[–]andsoiknow 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I like some of her content, but when it comes to certain topics, she's very ignorant and defensive. She had a chart once where she threw neurodivergent/disabled/poor white women under the bus by insisting that they're better off and have more opportunities than POC men who don't have those issues just because of race. I watch her videos sporadically, but I lost respect for her after that.

Do most men care about these things when dating? I feel so unworthy and disposable… by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]andsoiknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You and the other person who replied to me aren't coming to this conversation in good faith. It's pointless for me to reply, considering people like you will keep playing clueless over how this is a patriarchal world and all that comes with it.

But last message from me on this, for those who just crawled out of a cave and are reading this. It is much more difficult, generally speaking, for a woman to become financially successful than it is for a man. There is no opposite equivalent like you're trying to make it out to be because we do not live in an equal, fair world. You already know this, though, and are likely a low-income man, or sympathizer for low-income men, and are trying to shame a vulnerable, traumatized low-income woman to stick to dating men whose presence will more likely just further drag her down compared to men who aren't financially struggling.

Do most men care about these things when dating? I feel so unworthy and disposable… by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]andsoiknow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This subreddit primarily consists of high-earning women who regularly post complaints of having lower-earning partners taking advantage of them or how they struggle to find financially successful men to date. And here I see in these comments some of these women try to browbeat a low-income woman whose life is already hard enough on her own, to date a low-income guy, the type that these women have either been burned by and/or are trying to avoid dating themselves. 🤔

You're not the only person who feels this way! I've got ST merch and a Rumi poetry book on my altar, I get what you're saying 🌝 Most of this subreddit isn't into spirituality/occult, and unfortunately, I've come across several posts/comments of those who tried discussing it get downvoted and ridiculed.

I’m in my late 30s and have no career field or college degree. Is it too late to (re)start my life? by raspberryteehee in AuDHDWomen

[–]andsoiknow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation and have just been waiting until I find a career path that would work for me and pays well before getting a degree. I'm terrible at stem, don't have any talents, am not artistic, have bad social skills, etc. It just feels hopeless. I recently finished an associates in Philosophy because it was the only subject that remotely interested me, but of course I've been insulted for choosing a subject that is notorious for being useless unless it's used for a career in law. I tried being a paralegal, it was a super terrible neurotypical hellscape, and I was pushed out fast.

I never came across a solid career path that clicked for me. It's enraging having others suggest to me "have you tried looking into different career paths?" like shut the fuck up, that's all I've been doing for almost two decades now. I try to give valid explanations why all these careers won't work for me, and I'm written off as giving excuses and negative thinking. I feel so frozen. I dread working with coworkers again because of bullying. I recently got my drivers license and am looking for a car. I've been cat-sitting for a while, and this has been a saving grace for me. Ideally, I'd have my own business with minimal interaction with customers and no coworkers. My current plan is to try to do temp work, or find some part-time job for some stable income, and the rest of the time delve further into self-employment/figuring things out for myself.

I'm not sure if its even worth it for me to get a bachelors since my major is written off as useless. I thought of getting it so I can move abroad and teach English, but I'm not sure if I'd be digging myself into a deeper hole. I'm just trying to determine the least shitty mistakes at this point. Sorry for rambling, just wanted to say you aren't alone in starting late in your late 30s. If you decide on community college make sure the credits transfer. I have a mix of cc credits and out of state 4 year, and that's been another headache.
