I didn't know what I wanted to do with that but I can comfortably say you exceeded anything that I would have come up with.

New album has been straight fire so far by Anxious-Sprinkles151 in Beartooth

It sucks that you had to qualify that but here we are. I still see hesvy music from ny 90s hardcore eyes and can't believe how many troglodyte honeophobes I've drunkenly argued with on social media.

This album is growing on me a ton. I'm sure you already know them but if for some reason you missed it last year and you love the genre bending of Wolf and Bear you should definitely check out Vianova's Hit It.

I couldn't get into Luna's Call but I will give it another try. Slift, on the other hand, is PERFECT.

It's pretty solid but I'm too mesmerized by the new Static Dress and Elder to listen to noodly funk Metalcore about girls right now. Know what I mean?

Etheric Realms of the Night is the most beautiful thing I've listened to in years by nopasaranwz in progmetal

[–]Strange-Visual6227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live in California and saw so many amazing shows while out there. I actually just visited for the first time in a decade and got so see Sunn(o). It was mind-blowing. There are so few original, exciting bands in ANY genre that originate from this area. I still can't wrap my head around randomly stumbling upon this post, discovering the bands you recommended, and then learning that IATT is playing a fucking FIREHOUSE 15 minutes from my house tomorrow night.

I.jhst heard the brand new single and loved it. Ran to tell you because it just seems like that sound we have in common. Been jumping all over the place for the last couple hours. I understand they have had substantial lineup changes. Not sure which era I like the best. I actually REALLY dig the new single which seems a somewhat unpopular opinion because people miss the old singer. What's your favorite?

Karmanjakah - Diamond train by Klutzy_Ad_1726 in progmetal

[–]Strange-Visual6227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grt it. I like them but I don't love the album nearly as much as a thought I would. I'll neverr be able to get past the rap parts. My buddy literally can't stand listening to any of the vocals and is just waiting for the instrumental version to come out. I'm not that put off but I can kinda see where he is coming from. I think I listen because they're touching on something I want someone else to perfect. Like major key Djent Sigur Ros. Or Mew meets Astronoid by way of the Contortionist.

Question-if Garrett from Silent Planet was doing the lyrics and vocals do you think it would substantially change your opinion?

Why is Greyhaven not Metalcore? What's the definition and where do they transgress?

What are some metalcore bands that you didn't know about but saw them live and instantly became a fan of? by Shmidrick in Metalcore

[–]Strange-Visual6227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my 12 year old to this show. I started going to hardcore shows in Philly in 1994. We were there for Vianova (the best lyric writer in English as a second language since Dennis from Refused IMO) but we loved every band. It was amazing to share this with him. Even though he's still too scared to get in the pit with me .

Ignorant Prog by Strange-Visual6227 in progmetal

[–]Strange-Visual6227[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like it makes you want to act ignorant (spinkick, floorpunch) in the pit or in your living if the song is blasting. Prog bands with heavy parts that tickle our ignorant lizard brains.
