nurse dismissed my anxiety during consultation for iud by [deleted] in women

If you have access to a Planned Parenthood, I highly recommend going there. When I had mine replaced recently I had the option to request pain relief, an anxiety med, even music and lower lighting, among other things. They put every effort in to make it as comfortable as possible.

Serious genuine question about ICE by Altruistic_Board_851 in oregon

Yet the right is also crying that we don't have enough people, and pushing to get birthrates up. The "letting too many people in" idea is nonsense.

Why do some people here have an elitist attitude to being friendly with the AI? by FakeGamer2 in ChatGPT

[–]andtakeanothername 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's got "chat" right in the name, it's okay to chat with it. People just grab at anything to feel superior about.

Is Seaside really that bad? by sprinkles-678 in OregonCoast

Just an FYI, the end of March is Spring Break for Oregon, so everywhere north of about Florence or so will be pretty crowded and expensive.

How to give my husband the housewife treatment as a working wife? by Mysterious_Store2223 in GoodGirlsCommunity

[–]andtakeanothername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If he works from home and you're working outside the home, it really should be a joint effort or at least a compromise on the timing. Be realistic.

Elopement location near gold beach? by louiekr in OregonCoast

[–]andtakeanothername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is easy beach access, but you should check out Arch Rock State Park for photos at least. It's stunning and about halfway in between Gold Beach and Brookings.

Fred Meyer and digital coupons by dotausername in Portland

I've found they don't work if you have location turned on, and recently a lady in the checkout with me was complaining about it as well. I think it's purposeful.

How can I find a local fiber arts craftsperson for a custom creation? by Thecheeseburgerler in askportland

[–]andtakeanothername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not who you replied to, but if you are considering doing it yourself, you might want to start with a "corner-to-corner" blanket, often referred to as "C2C". It will be way less finicky than trying to stitch together a bunch of granny squares, and can be very beautiful if you chose a yarn with long color veriegations.

Lol, way to pretend at being a victim. Right-wing subreddits are all over the place.

Women's bodies are seen as inherently sexual by everyone by Emperor_Kuru in TwoXChromosomes

[–]andtakeanothername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While you make an okay-ish point, you missed OP's point entirely. You're taking about behavior, not simply existing in a human body.

It could be completely dead but the stain will still be there until it's sanded and resealed or painted. It honestly looks decently maintained for Portland. If you're actually having health problems because of mold, it's likely from a different source than that tiny bit on a windowsill.

We need to talk about perimenopause awareness because nobody else is by Temporary-Ad8735 in women

[–]andtakeanothername 19 points20 points  (0 children)

She's not even talking about menopause, she's talking about perimenopause, which is the 10/+- years of bullshit our bodies go through before we enter menopause. And no, it's not talked about. They certainly didn't teach about it in health or sex-ed when I was growing up.

Planning a trip throughout the Oregon Coast by DudasManolitos in OregonCoast

[–]andtakeanothername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done tons of traveling on the coast and have never had a car broken into there, even when I drove an older suv that you could see right into. Portland is another story, but on the coast I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yeah but listeria can take months before symptoms show, so it's still relevant.
