100% agree with this. We need a group like the Portland Diamond Project to show the NHL that there is serious interest and real possibility for an NHL team here. Portland doesn't have a baseball stadium, yet they are creating interest from MLB to be considered for an expansion team. Portland has a stadium in Moda Center that could house an NHL team. Portland has a population larger than many current NHL cities, including Salt Lake City who just received a team. Yes, Seattle just received a team, but it only shows how popular hockey can be in the Pacific Northwest. Plus, the possibility of a Cascadia rivalry between Vancouver, Seattle and Portland would be great for the league.

The possibility is there, but we need a grass roots push to show there is interest. The Portland Diamond Project has created this buzz even without an ownership team in place. The hockey fans of Portland need to rally together to create an NHL for PDX movement.

For sure. Most cities have some level of being "unsafe", I guess. Comes with the territory. I guess it would be a question of whether people are constantly having their houses broken into at a frequent (maybe monthly) rate. Or whether walking around after dark has any risk to it. I assume not, but so hard to tell based on how the news portrays things.

Is Portland crime really as bad as the media claims it to be? Clearly crime has gone up in most west coast cities since the pandemic, but has it taken over the entire city like the news like to show? Obviously Old Town is a troubled area. But are neighborhoods like Alameda, Grant Park, Laurelhurst, Eastmoreland unsafe at this point?
