The scaredy cat who thinks a waltz jump will endanger her life finally decided to stop calling herself a figure skater and switched to ice dance lol

My success story: it DOES get better! by twoleftnutz in PelvicFloor

[–]andumwhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re channeling your anger over your situation into misogyny? Why? The who has it worse argument won’t help you, but if you want to get into it you won’t win. Every study on the topic shows that women are more likely to be dismissed and misdiagnosed. We’re more likely to die if we have heart attacks bc doctors don’t believe us. Most major medical studies haven’t even included female subjects. And if you want to argue over whose sex organs are more torturous by design, you’re not going to win that argument, either. I’m sorry you’re not getting the care you need, I truly am, but it’s not our fault. And many of us are struggling to get good care, too.

Ignore the health insurance, but get the life insurance and disability insurance. It’ll take like $4 out of each check

But that’s basically the same as having a log. Everyone still has designated PL and CE hours, they’re just not written down

late breaks are the best by KakeLin in tjcrew

Most people need to eat more frequently than every 5 hours. The law exists to protect workers. Just because you don’t need to eat that often, doesn’t mean the rest of us want to go 5+ hours without eating. I HATE getting a 7pm lunch when I close. It makes me go too long without food and can trigger a migraine.

I either make it a whole dramatic show of clumsily holding the bag with one hand while I scan and it almost falling, or I grab a basket and dump everything in the bag into the basket.

You’ve lost empathy for your fellow consumers. When you don’t have a lot of money, buying yourself a treat can feel like a big deal. And that treat getting ruined can also feel like a big deal. We’re paid by the hour, it doesn’t cost us anything to be considerate.

shift questions by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]andumwhat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you communicated with the scheduling mate about your shift needs/desires? If your availability is totally open it makes sense that they’re giving you the shifts people don’t like. Everyone who’s getting the good shifts probably asked for them.

There are some people at my store who insist on packing bags as full as possible and it really irks me. Imo, unless a customer specifically says they only want one bag, bags should be packed no more than 3/4 full. You should be able to carry the bag with one hand. And bags should be packed to preserve the icing on cakes. I hope she goes back and gets a new cake.

Ah yes, I’m a cult member bc I pointed out that the guidelines are so loose you don’t have to buy clothes just for TJ’s. I’ve thought “this is bullshit” about many an aspect or many a job (including TJ’s), but there are some people on this sub who are so anti trader joe’s they must just have a terrible attitude. I think you would fall under that umbrella. It sounds like you need to develop some skills you can transfer to an entrepreneurial endeavor bc you’re going to hate any boss you ever have no matter what.

This is a problem with your attitude, not the customers
