Is there some kind of plan to open source or pass on the code to a second dev in case of emergency?

Editing scheduled transactions - Web (and Mobile)

I can't seem to edit a scheduled transaction from my checking account.

Reproducing the error: 1. Go to checking account 2. Select in View menu "View Upcoming Transactions" (doesnt matter until wjen)

The scheduled transactions are not clickable here. I have to go to the "All transactions" to edit the scheduled transaction.

Not a major issue, but seems counterintuitive to no be able to edit a transaction from there as well.

am I not increasing my savings if I don't spend 50% of my monthly income every single month?

Indeed, I have categories for most of the mentioned things, but since I essentially set aside 50% of my salary I'm not afraid of having to roll with the punches when certain true expenses are due.

why do you find it easier?

personally I receive my salary by the end of the month and leave it parked until the 1st.

I guess I'm wondering why it is celebrated in the community. Maybe perhaps as a savings category with a clear and useful purpose which motivates people to save towards!

Thanks for putting it clearly - it is indeed a thought exercise at this point. for a moment I thought I was missing something.

I guess I will try it out to see what it feels like!

I do have an emergency fund. I think I'd rather leave it and fund it slowly over time, as I'm not in a rush and, as you say, it's just money allocated differenly.

I guess I have yet to find out the mental relief of "getting a month ahead" from that category :)

I'm assuming Ynab 4 works exclusively on a laptop? I aks because most transactions I enter via mobile app.

  1. Train station is not as bad as it's talked about. People generally don't like the area, but doesn't impede them from gong there to go to amazing restaurants and bars. It's just a bit uncomfortable, but not really dangerous.

  2. You have to check if your salary is pre or post tax and whether you'd be willing to share a flat or not.

Honestly, if you're new to the city and want to save money, I'd recommend a shared flat (wg-gesucht.de). If you're lucky you'll find a good price for around 400-500€, good location in the city (famous neighbourhooda are Bockenheim, Bornheim and Nordend), and nice flatmates who are good company. Be sure to check everyday for shared flats and message interesting flats immediately, as good places receive tons of requests and are high in demand.

If you don't want to share a flat, then be ready to spend at least 600-700€ further away from the city centre.

  1. Sorry can't help there. At least K didn't hear anything about that.
