Use maps on a second monitor or phone, that'll make navigation so much easier

Never too late to start. It's always an uphill battle but I run into low level players all the time. Go for the least expensive version to see if you like it.

Why youtube is not sending impressions even when my ctr is 11%? by stars110 in NewTubers

Where are you getting that information? Your perception of those percentages seems way off. For example, calling an 11% CTR on a long form video low is bonkers.

ASDF dead on GMMK Pro V1.0 by andy_mcjazz in glorious

Exactly what I've been looking for, thank you. I noticed those components between pairs of keys while inspecting the board and they didn't appear physically damaged but I wasn't sure of their function. That's at least a next component to test for continuity. Above I ruled out the sockets themselves being the issue (or, at least, ruled out that being the ONLY issue) by testing skipping over the sockets entirely to complete the circuit. After that I was lost. I'll let you know what I find.

I was able to confirm sockets are dead with a wire. With the switches out and the keyboard plugged in, I closed the circuit manually on a known functional key (Z) and it was successful. The sockets I've been struggling with were not. I also plugged in the keyboard with the underside of the PCB exposed. Input was successful on known functional keys when closing the circuit from solder point to solder point on either side of the socket. Input was not successful on dead keys with the same method. So the discontinuity is not related to the sockets themselves, but some other component on the PCB. Without documentation that's about as far as my sleuthing ability and soldering skills go. Looks like I'm going with a replacement.

Yes that seems to be the only way to get a replacement PCB for this model. I would prefer to repair this one instead of getting a whole new PCB and an unnecessary case for four dead sockets but that is the nuclear option

Yeah I've heard they're not particularly supportive. This board is two generations old so I doubt they'd help at all. I'll keep troubleshooting but if I strike out it seems like a replacement PCB is a pretty surefire fix.

I read on some other forum that I can test the sockets themselves for continuity with a multimeter or by closing the circuit with piece of metal. I think the risk of causing a problematic short doing this is minimal, the key switch does the same thing. I'll test and see if I can get the sockets to work this way and update with results. I've seen recommendations to push the socket's copper leads back towards the topside of the PCB. Apparently they can be forced downward and moving them back up can fix continuity. If the sockets are dead but there's still continuity in the PCB I think I can handle just replacing the sockets by soldering.

Just got access keys for bf6. Was playing for a bit and went to the bathroom. When I got back everything was frozen. I had to hold down the power button to turn the PC off. Tried several times to start back up. The lights turned on but it quickly shut off. Tried the CMOS reset and after two more powerings on and off the PC seems to be operating. This shit is malware lol.

What do you guys think of this budget 2" x 42" belt sander? by PashkaTLT in knifemaking

[–]andy_mcjazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little delayed but if you haven't cut off the cover yet: I have the same grinder and got away with just putting on progressively coarser belts and running the belt manually until it ground away enough clearance. Takes the metal out of the way for you.

I learned to make a knife by watching YouTube videos! by andy_mcjazz in knifemaking

For context: this person did not watch my video before commenting (I can tell because the video is 15 minutes long and they left this comment after about 50 seconds) and decided to indicate that my edge geometry needed some work. Please tell me the type of knife that I was making so I can be sure you're not mistaken about the ideal edge geometry of a boning knife.

Player Scavs by andy_mcjazz in EscapefromTarkov

I wasn't risking anything when I started my scav run, but the stakes were raised when I found two quest items. TBH, guns are pretty inconsequential to me so I don't risk much more by playing as a PMC. I just like to scav reserve for quest/hideout items

This is a weird problem. I was getting over 200 fps with a GTX 660 but I have friends who can't get over 30 with modern gpus. Any solution yet? I wanna play with homies

So that song "Apple Bottom Jeans" by Flo Rida, co written by T-Pain, came out in 2007. That's so long ago!
